The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Key Tasks: -
* Working within the Plant Engineering function of Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering, the Facility & Layout team are responsible for supporting the Manufacturing Engineering teams in the development of facility layouts associated with new engine facilities and engineering updates worldwide.
* Take responsibility for creating concept and feasibility layouts for new manufacturing processes and facilities
* Ensure that space is used effectively and supports lean manufacturing targets
* Lead the development of the master layout or zone from concept design through to detailed planning or gateway approval, communicating clearly the requirements of the process and facility to the consultant engineer and architect
* Support the production engineering teams and other specialists with facility and layout expertise on multi-discipline projects in support of the construction and modification of new engine manufacturing facilities
* Lead internal and external layout review meetings, presenting the rationale on which the layout is based
* Coordinate the relevant design parties and disciplines within the project team to ensure the facility and building services are installed in a safe, coordinated manner
* Coordinate the physical installation of equipment in new locations, raising and managing issues where appropriate

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
* Ideally worked within a Facility and Layout role within a Manufacturing environment or similar discipline.
* Ideally has knowledge of the Factory Design & Building Design Suite applications.
* Experience of Revit would be advantageous

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
* Has proven experience in the Project Management of large facility installations from the development of factory layouts through to commissioning and handover of new equipment and processes.
* Fully conversant with the Construction Design & Management Regulation (CDM Regulations), with a knowledge of Building Regulations and key Health & Safety legislation.
* Candidate must have a record of proactive delivery and commitment to meeting deadlines including previous projects and budgetary management experience.
* The ability to lead, and to work as part of a team is essential, as is the ability to achieve results by meeting deliverables / commitments.
* Capable of analysing volume and capacity data to define operational flow and buffer strategy, and can demonstrate effective problem resolution.
* Previous experience of AutoCAD and 3D modelling competence.
