The Role:
Develop and recommend strategies and innovative approaches to Plant Layout and Piping Engineering Designs for LNG, Oil and Gas and Petro-Chemical Plants, including providing detailed Plot Plans and layouts as well as quantity estimates to support pricing during the Pre FEED, FEED and EPC Phases of the projects.
The Successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Piping Engineering, but is also responsible for coordination with the project engineering department as well as all associated disciplines during the all stages of the project.
Primary responsibility is to facilitate effective execution of projects by implementing Engineering Execution Initiatives and development of Engineering Practices, systems, tools, and training.
Will apply interdepartmental lessons learned and develop new methods, techniques and solutions for integrated work share execution, and independently plan, develop and execute assignments.
Have an understanding of Local and International codes and procedures, such as but not limited to ASME B31.3 and NFPA 59A.
Have a basic understanding and application of Pipe Stress calculations and procedures, knowledge of and application of Caesar II a plus (but not essential)
Mentor junior personnel in the practices of Plant and Piping Design.
Solve engineering problems as they relate to Plant Layout, coordinate technical interfaces and ensure they are clearly defined.
Develop, maintain and issue design specifications and drawings in regards to plant layout and piping.
Review proposal (internal) and customer (external) documents and ensure proper definition and understanding of the requirements.
Coordinate the technical interfaces internally with all related disciplines.
Implement the Plant Layout scope in accordance with the Project Schedule
Review Plot Plans and Piping design to ensure deliverables are consistent with project specific requirements.
Provide field support during construction.
Manage the design control process during project implementation. This includes the review and approval of equipment and vendor documents to assess the impact of a proposed design changes on project schedule.
Ensure that reference plant design activities will include project specific deliverables for related disciplines.
Develop Conceptual Plot Plans, Site Plot Plans, and Unit Plot Plans and equipment layouts.
Develop Plant layout drawings and studies.
Develop piping routing studies.
Review and approve piping design standards and specifications and utilizing industry safety best-practices.
Review, monitor and ensure compliance requirements are met for design.
Review Standards, specification and local codes and regulations etc.
Coordinate with other engineering and design discipline team members.
Develop, implement, and maintaining design standards, guides, and procedures.
Respond to reports and requests for information.
Review finalized Plot and piping drawings with the Department licensed PE (including
Piping plans and sections, piping isometrics, piping supports, tank and vessel layouts and details, etc.
Ensure engineering, design quality, and technical accuracy of drawings, 3D Models and material quantities.
Reviewing and monitoring of piping deliverables.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree required.
An associate’s degree will be acceptable with the correct years of experience.
15 + years minimum experience in the Oil and Gas, LNG, Refining and Petro-chemical industries
Prior engineering and/or construction experience required.
Thorough knowledge of ASME (particularly B31.3 and B16.5) ASTM, API, PIP codes and standards.
PRE FEED, FEED and EPC experience
Experience with piping systems especially Cryogenic, Hot Oil, and high Pressure Steam etc.
Willingness to travel to Job sites and HVE centers when required.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of organization.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
