The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
Facility Design BIM Engineer Facility & Layout BIM engineer Working within the Plant Engineering function of Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering, the role is responsible for the Facility & Layout development required to deliver new Powertrain projects. The role will be within a group staff organisation for Powertrain and will be required to support all Powertrain projects within the UK and Overseas as appropriate. The Facility & Layout team are responsible for supporting the Manufacturing Engineering teams in the development of Built Environment Built Environment (BIM) models and Facility Equipment Models and Layouts associated with new engine development and engineering updates to the as-built condition.

Skills Required:
You will be expected to produce and develop 3D co-ordinated models using BIM Authoring tools such as Revit MEP and producing schematic and detailed 2D Autocad drawing for the purposes of setting out during installations. Required to work on projects relating to Mechanical, Electrical and Process Equipment, so experience in these areas is essential. Proven skills to successfully control and manage workload and the implementation of company and project BIM and CAD standards, and drawing document procedures. Experience of PAS1192 is desirable. Liaison with other engineers and technicians is essential so you must have good communication skills. ¿ Responsible for creating concept & feasibility layouts for new manufacturing processes or facilities that utilise space effectively and have a clear structure for material, people and production flow and support lean manufacturing targets. Lead the development of the master layout or zone from concept design through to detailed planning or gateway approval, communicating clearly the requirements of the process / facility effectively to internal process teams, consultant engineer and architect. Responsible for coordinating the relevant design parties and disciplines within the project team, to ensure that the facility and building services are installed in a safe and coordinated manner that is fault and clash free. Assist in BIM co-ordination meetings and undertake activities such as `live¿ walkthroughs, clash detection, problem solving, co-ordination or spatial issues and occasional site surveys. Model coordination and interrogation ensuring the coordination of the federated model and maintain the master model to enable clash detection, timeline analysis and visualization processes. Provide coordination of the incoming & outgoing data models & documents via 4 Projects to ensure that all changes are identified and that the accuracy of drawings/models held on file are updated & maintained.

MUST HAVE 1. Qualified to degree level or equivalent qualification in Core discipline 2. Proven experience in the delivery of large facility or project installations from the development of concept models through to commissioning and handover. 3. Ideally has experience of a Manufacturing / Process Equipment, or MEP or Architectural coordination within the AEC sector. 4. Revit MEP and AutoCAD and 2D CAD skills is essential. 5. The ability to lead, and to work as part of a team is essential, as is the ability to achieve results by meeting deliverables / commitments 6. Good knowledge of MS Office Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Project) 7. Candidate must have a record of proactive delivery and commitment to meeting deadlines including previous projects and budgetary management experience. 8. Understanding of the Construction Design & Management Regulation (CDM Regulations), with a knowledge of Building Regulations and key Health & Safety legislation.

The generic advert for Powertrain manufacturing has not been suitable for this specific role, and a more specific but generic to a sector e.g. CAD design is likely to bring forward more candidates.
