The Company:
Our client is a leading international exploration company with offices in the Middle East area. They are currently looking for a Plant Supervisor to join their busy Kurdistan operations on a rotational basis.

The Role:
MAJOR FUNCITONS
Manages the daily operations of the LPG recovery plant. Directs the shift Operation Team to meet business needs by working in a safe and environmentally correct manner. Provides coaching and mentoring to ensure subordinates are trained to meet all operational requirements. Ensures operational and maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with Operational and local Procedures. Operates the plant and delivers core maintenance work to meet business targets of HSE requirements. Provides leadership and develops the skills and competency of the shift team members. Seeks and delivers continuous improvement opportunities. Promotes and ensures compliance with Permit to Work and HSE Regulations and Procedures. Utilizes experience and hazard identification knowledge to minimize plant hazards during routine activities through utilization of STEP 2 programme. Reports to the Operations Superintendent.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plant Management & Processes
1. Contributes to LPG Facility’s continuous improvement in Production and HSE performance by ensuring safety and environmental Standards and Procedures are followed within the workplace.
2. Ensures appropriate control mechanisms, procedures and processes are followed in accordance with the Operational Procedures.
3. Operates the plant within design limits to meet set performance targets and customer demands. Conducts operational activities to preserve the long term reliability of the plant.
4. Ensures ‘Sample Schedule’ is followed and maintained.
5. Leads, where appropriate, the investigation team to report on incidents, Near misses and manages the follow up on consequent actions (e.g. NGL and LPG Tank truck leaks and related issues).
6. Contributes to the process planning and execution of plant maintenance shutdowns and Start-Ups.
7. Seeks and deliver continuous improvement initiatives and where possible manage the delivery of these initiatives, involving other parties as required.
8. Reports to the Alpha-2 on observing an emergency situation. Assess situation and possible action measures required in controlling any operational emergency.
9. Manages the shift team to complete planned and unscheduled work to meet business needs Attends and contribute operational requirements at the maintenance planning/scheduling meetings.
10. Reviews manning requirements and highlight when additional resources are required.
11. Leads ‘Operational Risk Assessments’ for any task or non-routine work.
12. Prepares Non routine operations procedures.
13. Updates and review existing operations procedures.
14. Updates and red markup existing PID’s.


Operational Data, Reports and documentation
15. Records and collates production and process data.
16. Prepares effective incident / investigation reports as applicable.
17. Distributes the list of recipients on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis.
18. Writes and reviews operational procedures for any non-routine activities.
19. Reviews operational documentation, Manuals, Procedures and Standing.
Lead role in Emergency Situations
20. Leads the management of all emergency situations in the plant and coordinates closely with the counterpart Shift Supervisors to undertake the lead role as the on-scene –Commander in addressing the situation.


Leadership and Supervision
21. Provides on the job training, coaching and mentoring.
22. Reviews performance and reports recommendations to Senior Personnel of other departments.
23. Develops the skills and competence of the shift team.
24. Identifies and action training need in cooperation with the DCS Supervisors and Lead Operator.
25. Conducts regular performance appraisals of all team members.


Health, Safety and Quality
26. Ensures all work on the ‘LPG Plant’ is carried out safely and meets environmental standards and local regulations.
27. Ensures company safety and environmental policies are followed by all personnel working in the Plant, promoting good Housekeeping and Waste Management.
28. Promotes a positive safety culture within the shift team by raising the standards of ‘Hazard Awareness’ and the implementation of the ‘2nd STEP’.
29. Acts as on scene commander during emergencies as Alpha 1, in the absence of the Operations Superintendent.


Reporting and Communication
30. Reports to the Operations Superintendent on all issues relating to the management of the plant.
31. Exhibits and maintains excellent working relationships with all staff.
Continuous Improvement of Position
32. Conducts a thorough plant inspection and makes suggestion for the improvement of plant operations and procedures.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

10 years experience working on Hydrocarbon Facility, Gas / LPG Plant. Minimum 3 years in a Supervisor role.

Engineering or Technical qualification relevant to Oil and Gas operations.
