The Company:
The company designs, constructs, transports, installs and removes offshore facilities for the global oil and gas industry. During the last decades they have become a significant international player in the offshore oil and gas construction industry. The Group consists of two divisions, each with a specific role in the activities of the Group

The Role:
Reporting to the Plating supervisor you will be responsible for the production of all aspects of fabricated components working from detailed engineering drawings. As a Plater you will be working with a range of materials including mild steel, stainless steel and duplex from 3mm to 50mm thickness.

• The interpretation of drawings and documents and marking out
• Ensure that all cutting grinding and measuring equipment is available and in working order
• Report all defects and shortages to the plating supervisor
• Withdrawal of correct materials from stores
• Carry out the plating operation in accordance with the relevant work instructions or the clients requirements
• Pass on all relevant information to the designated welder and check that it satisfies with the drawing requirements
• Liaise with inspectors as required
• To liaise with health and safety officer and supervisor to promote a safe working environment
• To be responsible for their individual quality health and safety as well as their colleagues.
• Platers will when required attend courses to maintain competence in line with new standards and techniques
• Platers will assist in the training of apprentices students and new employees
• Be responsible for general good house keeping and safe working practices
• Be responsible for the accuracy and content of their own work
• Cable management and house keeping

Rates of pay are £16.18ph PAYE Plus £0.09ph Tacking Allowance, or £21.19ph Ltd Company.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Time Served Plater/Fabricator qualified to NVQ Level 3 or a recognised engineering qualification
• Successful SHE Induction
• Previous heavy fabrication/plating experience on construction sites working to stringent tolerances
• An understanding of company Quality safety health and environmental systems & programmes
• Communicate in a positive manner with shop floor personnel and discipline supervisor
• Complete trade test including tacking

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Overhead crane – Desirable
• Lifting and fairing aids
• MEWP – Desirable
