The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The Platform Group Leader is responsible for managing the Durability & Reliability (D&R) Programme Attribute Team (PAT) leaders for current vehicle programmes. This includes ownership and continuous improvement of PAT processes and development of new standards and methods for D&R. The Platform GL is also responsible for managing the overall test workload into both D&R and supporting test functions and facilities such as Structural Rig Test and Road Load Data for all D&R testing in the UK and Worldwide.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
1) Skills & knowledge in automotive suspension systems, loads management & RLD including understanding of the Mechanics & Dynamics of structural systems.
2) Management of projects & people including working to & development of process & procedures.
3) Excellent communication, and presentation skills. Good knowledge of Strength & Fatigue of Engineering materials
Candidate should have a thorough experience in vehicle testing with substantial knowledge of chassis systems & load management at a level to discuss at a detailed technical level with senior management. This should include knowledge of the RLD process & its application to testing on rigs and assessing system/component capacity versus demand. The candidate should also have man management experience in setting & measuring objectives as well as day to day admin of our client’s process & procedures. Minimum considered qualification is Mechanical or Automotive Engineering Degree.
Hands on experience of vehicle testing for environmental, structural and system robustness verification
A broad knowledge of Chassis, Body and Powertrain structures and major systems and their interactions
