The Company:
Our client, a major Oil & Gas owner/operator, is seeking expertise for their mega projects in Alberta

The Role:
• Play-maker working in conjunction with the regional and evaluation teams to articulate the types/scope and potential value of play opportunities across our established land base, developing/using a regional play framework to optimize a local “prospect” view, with a focus on screening for unconventional tight light oil play scope.

• Develop/rank plays within the established landbase, including identifying and driving early evaluation data gathering and drilling in support of play refinement.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Broad/deep evaluation, petroleum system analysis and play maturation(play-maker) skills, ideally developed from multiple basins
• A capacity to leverage a wealth of in-house and public domain data, in the definition/refinement of tight light oil plays, ideally with prior knowledge of the Canadian basins
• 5-15 years relevant experience in regional geological reviews and development of geological models as input to new play identification and development. The selected incumbent will be familiar with the following:
• Constructing/maintaining/analyzing geological databases
• Developing consistent log correlations, sequence stratigraphic evaluations, well evaluations and look back analysis
• Undertaking potential fields analysis, regional seismic interpretation and as relevant, fault and structure mapping
• Geochemical analysis and basin modeling
• Basic petrophysical evaluation
