The Company:
Our Client is a global Energy Leader with a strong commitment to Honest and Ethical Business Practices within the Oil and Gas Industry. Our Client operates as an independent energy company. It has four segments: Oil and Gas, Syncrude, Energy Marketing, and Chemicals. The Oil and Gas segment explores, develops, and produces crude oil, natural gas, and related products.

The Role:
JOB SUMMARY:

•Drive excellence in project management practices to support the business in achieving and sustaining top quartile performance.
•Act as the Operations authority on project management processes and procedures.
•Provide and support a framework for a standardised approach to project execution.
•Ensure consistency and alignment in project management practices throughout all areas of project execution.
•Provide a high level of assurance and governance so that projects across all areas of the business deliver quality and sustainability in a predictable and consistent manner.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

•To develop, execute and maintain a business plan to ensure that all projects deliver quality and sustainability in a predictable and consistent manner.
•Ensure that communications across all project teams and key stakeholders are co-ordinated and consistent.
•Will provide leadership and direction across a portfolio of projects to balance priorities, workloads and resolve conflicts that exist.
•Accountable for implementation of the project management tool box / framework for use by all Project Managers on their respective projects.
•Ensure that all projects have the correct level of project governance and assurance, and that they adhere to that.
•Responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the project management tool box.
•To provide support, training and guidance to subject matter experts who execute projects throughout the business in project management practices.
•Responsible for ensuring that project execute gate reviews in accordance with the project schedule and the project achieves the correct level of readiness and sustainability before moving to the next gate.
•Regularly report on PMO processes and status of work to all team members; works with business PMO counterparts to ensure consistency in standards, reporting etc.
•To support the Performance Manager in all matters relating to the assurance and governance of projects executed in all areas of the business.
•Maybe required to lead selected projects to support the Performance Manager in delivery of department objectives.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree in an relevant degree and / or relevant experience
•Training in a project management methodology PMI, APM, Prince
•Experienced in execution of projects from concept to close out and handover
•Experienced in delivery and management of cross functional projects
•Sound knowledge of business and process improvement
•Experienced in project management methodology
•Experienced of one or more project supporting roles such as but not limited to – Project Planning, Coordination, Finance, Engineering,

Quality

•Excellent communication skills including executing group training sessions and presentations
•Oil and Gas experience preferred.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Master Degree in an relevant area
•Professional Qualification
