The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
Scope
The objective of the PMO is to define, develop and drive the corporate strategy and large strategic change initiatives to ensure the sustainable achievement of the Groups long term targets. The PMO Programme Manager has responsibilities in two main areas, 1: Liaising with Executive Board project sponsors, strategic project leaders and project team members to drive allocated strategic projects and 2: Supporting all employees within Groups to ensure buy in to the strategy and strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities
1: Support the definition, development and refinement of the strategy and allocated strategic projects
- Develop outputs based on the outcomes from the strategy circle to develop the overall business strategy
- Liaise with the allocated Executive Board project sponsors and project leaders to formulate a project strategy plan
- Scope and highlight interdependencies between strategic projects and within the wider business ensuring alignment, prioritisation and avoiding duplication
- Ensure a consistent value added approach is being adopted by all projects and that best practice is shared
- Ensure that strategic projects are set up to align to the business strategy

2: Drive, design and ensure sustainable implementation of corporate strategy and allocated strategic projects
- Maintenance and driving of allocated strategic projects
- Create, define and set up allocated strategic business structure
- Present regular status updates and signal the need for decision and direction to the Executive Board/ Board Sponsor
- Represent the independent PMO view of allocated strategic projects
- Ensure the robust project management tools are in place for allocated strategic projects
- Design & facilitate improvement workshops to support delivery of projects
- Justification of consultant appointment to support the delivery of allocated project targets
- Creation of project brief for consultant appointment and continuous monitoring of activities and deliverables
- Coach, train and mentor strategic project leaders and facilitators

3: Ensure buy in to the strategy and strategic projects
- Design and support strategy roll out activities within the strategy
- Lead the engagement of managment and colleagues in allocated projects
- Create and lead aspects of communication activities as assigned
- Stakeholder and change management

4: Setting S.M.A.R.T targets for allocated strategic projects
- Quantify the impact of the strategic projects together with project leaders
- Work together with Financial Controllers to ensure inclusion in budgets/ planning rounds
- Monitor and present progress on target achievement to the Board sponsors
- Audit and challenge milestone achievement and timing plan

Qualifications
Educated to Degree Level or equivalent
Prince 2/ MSP Project Management qualifications or equivalent

Previous Experience
- Tangible experience in a similar role in developing strategy, strategic project management, change management is required and within the Automotive industry is preferred
- Tangible experience in successful leadership and delivery of cross functional programme/ top up strategic change initiatives
- In depth knowledge in the application of project/ programme management tools and techniques
- A passion, readiness to change and motivation to drive improvement
- Excellent solution/ results orientation and ability to make own decisions
Able to react quickly to change, working in a fast paced environment
- Able to lead many different stakeholders to quickly achieve win/ win situations
- Collaborative working style and capability to facilitate change, mediate and delegate
- Tenacious, persistent and capable to question and challenge
- Able to assimilate lots of information and present in a concise and structure way to aid decision making
- An appetite to learn and continuously improve own personal development/ skills and business knowledge
- Excellent network/ acceptance/ support among the strategic project teams and wider management within Group or tangible experience in creating this elsewhere
- Excellent network beyond the role in the organisation and access to opinion leaders within the organisation or tangible experience in this externally to the group

The successful candidate will also have:
- In depth knowledge and demonstrable experience in strategy development, strategic project management, process improvement techniques, people and process change management
- Demonstrable experience in deployment of project management tools and techniques
- Excellent business acumen and understanding of core business strategy & processes
- Excellent understanding of the global economy and potential impact on business strategy & processes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills together with strong stakeholder management
- Quantitative and analytical capabilities
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of the Group Strategy and processes (beneficial)
- German language skills are desirable
