The Company:
A luxury Automotive OEM based in the West Midlands. After continued growth & success there are a number of new exciting engineering projects underway and we currently have requirements for experienced engineering professionals.

The Role:
Lead the cross-functional PMST to deliver Bumpers, Sills, Wheelarch Liners to meet programme cost, time and quality targets.

•Develop commodity strategies to support procurement of parts, tooling and D&D
•Create and manage the BoM from set-up through to production release
•Lead project management to ensure robust delivery of system and components to programme targets (quality, cost, timing and functional attributes)
•Lead PMST meetings to ensure full engagement of all other business areas and suppliers
•Create & manage high level timing plan for system and components
•Manage external D&D activities and monitor progress according to plan.
•Resolve issues arising from PMST, empowered to direct cross-functional team to achieve resolution
•Produce Engineering Release Note (in conjunction with Project Engineer)
•Project manage the supply of parts to support builds and/or FMA/DVP activities as necessary
•Maintain relevant project documentation.

•Engineering degree (or equivalent)
•5 years’ experience within automotive engineering/product development
•3 years experience in managing the design and delivery of exterior trim on new vehicle programmes
•Knowledge of Bumpers, Sills, under-body mouldings design, development and validation
•Experience of leadership or clear evidence of leadership ability.
•Strong communication skills
•Familiar with failure mode avoidance techniques including DFMEA
•Proficient in MS Office tools: Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
•Good understanding of manufacturing techniques and tooling including stamping, casting, injection moulding, fabrication
•Proficient in the use of Teamcenter / Vismockup to interrogate CAD designs and drawingsSelf-starting and self-motivated.
•Excellent organisational skills, ability to deliver under pressure.
•Confident communicator – able to present at Gateway reviews with senior management
•Commercial awareness – ability to work within budgetary constraints and ensure value-for-money in development, tooling and part costs
•Full driving licence
•Chartered Engineer
