The Role:
Chief Engineer with minimum of five years experience in DP operations, with at least three years in Engineering/Technical Department managerial positions. Experience with PSV, AHTSV and Standby vessel operations, experience in moored semisubmersible, jack-up or in Dive Support Vessels’ marine operations is a plus. Previous office based marine support / management experience to be taken into consideration.

Education, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications:
 High school graduate.
 Unlimited STCW for Chief Engineer license preferred
 Nautical Institute unlimited DP Engineer certificate or equivalent required.
 Maritime academy and/or Bachelor's degree from accredited college, university, preferred

Competency Requirements:
 Ability to work within tight deadlines
 Ability to completely undertake technical and engineering activities of the fleet with limited supervision
 Excellent communication skills-including the ability to write clear and concise reports
 Strong operational Analysis background with preferred experience in hand-on operation of various DP related equipment
 Familiarity with offshore industry codes/standards, including international and industry recommended practices
 Flexibility in working hours and being able to travel internationally when required.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
 Direct liaison between the fleet engineering crews and upper Technical & Engineering management
 Monitor fleet plan maintenance schedule for compliance and feed critical dates (dry docking etc) into the Technical & Engineering Manager’s long term vessel plan
 Provide day-to-day monitoring and review of all engineering & technical related activities in port and offshore whenever required, including but not limited to repairs and modifications
 Makes sure that vessels are well maintained by the crew in timely manner.
 Monitor vessel’s engines fuel consumption and arrange spot audits
 Monitor & Audit engineering and technical aspects of the fleet specification.
 Provide review of the Company procedures related to fleet maintenance and repairs
 Prepares recommendations for fleet maintenance works, and initiates procurement of materials / spare parts together with Technical & Engineering Manager.
 Responsible for rectification in time of all deficiencies marked down in Port/Flag State Control, Charterers Audits or other type vetting deficiency lists
 Participate in incident investigations and verify that investigations are carried out effectively
 Provide specialist assistance/advice in investigating and closing-out marine engineering related incidents
 Participate in the provision of out of hour’s operational and emergency call-out, ensuring a continuous service is provided
 Provide input and support into the overall Company marine strategy, specifically in the areas propulsion type, horse power and fuel efficiency
 Assisting Human Resources Department with selection of mechanical engineering personnel
 Responsible for development, implementation, and administration of company marine/DP policies, procedures, guidelines
 Consult with Operations Department for development of standing orders, fleet, and site-specific operational guidelines
 Responsible to maintain current engineering crew knowledge of marine industry standards, practices and methodologies as well as Class, IMO and regulatory requirements
 Ensuring compliance of the fleet where appropriate with the Company’s Policies and Procedures in accordance with the requirements of Quality Standard ISO 9001:2008, Occupational Health & Safety Standard OHSAS 18001:2007, the ISM Code 2010 and Environmental Standard ISO 14001:2004.
 Facilitates information and good company relations with outside vendors and customers.

The Working Environment
Port Engineer will spend the majority of his/her time working at a quayside office together with Port Captain, co-ordinating resources for engineering and technical aspects of the fleet from port, inspecting the fleet and assessing the efficiency of engineering operations on board of vessels. There maybe some time spent in CMS head office also.
