The Role:
Detailed design, specification and integration of electrical and electro-mechanical devices within powertrain control systems. Work within and develop the team core documentation with respect to design standards, component quality and reliability. Responsibility for component design verification plans and delivery of robust component engineering sign off. Liaison with suppliers (internal and external) to ensure components are cost effectively manufactured to meet design requirements and delivered to the programme timing. Undertake fault analysis and reliaility assessments using recognised techniques including FMEA and fault tree analysis

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Qualified applicants with a bias towards Calibration and Controls, electrical/electronic/electro-mechanical engineering, instrumentation, sensors/detectors or actuators. Experience in one or more of the following areas; Automotive; Aerospace; Rail; Marine; Consumer electronics; sensors; analogue and digital systems and hardware integration. An in depth knowledge of systems engineering either in a design environment or a development and test environment. High level of communication and organisational skills. In depth knowledge of quality tools application and supplier management
A deep working knowledge of at least one specialised area of engine control hardware (Petrol or diesel), electromechanical system engineering or harness routings would be beneficial
Degree preferred

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Additional skills preferred would be in the application of engineering systems to internal combustion engines, combined with concept to launch experience. Automotive experience preferred but not essential
Engine emission requirements and the components that provide feedback control signals to the engine control unit.
