The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
This is a key role in Powertrain Cooling with responsibility for the system integration elements of cooling system design. Powertrain Cooling is responsible for the cooling system design, development and sign off for all Jaguar Land Rover products. The department is responsible for taking concept design from the Advanced Product Creation (APC) team, refining and driving those designs into production. The department has a wide variety of work, currently having major projects on most of the JLR model lines. A vacancy exists for a Cooling System Integration Engineer within this team.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Own and manage the introduction of cooling system circuit designs into JLR applications. Manage the cooling attributes via technical meetings, compiling and maintaining meeting minutes. Create and maintain circuit diagrams as a central source of information. Create Engineering Standards as required an ensure that designs meet the requirements providing supporting evidence. Use 1D simulation information to develop cooling systems prior to hardware availability. Support vehicle launch at pilot build and manufacturing plant as the main source of cooling system technical knowledge
Minimum 3 years in Automotive Engineering. Flexible, motivated with good interpersonal and meeting skills. Must be able to foster good working relationships to achieve goals. Proven ability to manage own workload to meet clear and defined targets. Must be able to communicate and able to present information in a concise and factual manner. Good working knowledge of JLR/Ford systems, WERS, eFDVS, AIMS, etc. Profic

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be able to work within the principles and operating practices associated with GPDS (PCS), with specific focus on improving the virtual sign-off design and sign-off prior to M1DJ. Experience of V5 Catia CAD would be an advantage. Experience of Gamma Technologies 1D simulation would be an advantage. Vehicle and powertrain product development experience would be an advantage
Detailed knowledge of automotive cooling systems
Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline
