The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
Deliver Engineering systems and components to meet the requirements of the Project Description Brochure.
Responsible for the specification, test and validation plan to achieve the cost, weight, timing and quality targets for the project. Achieve engineering signoff for systems and components in area of responsibility

1) Support and Lead Design Development
Take the lead in Design and development of technology in area of responsibility.
Advanced ability to capture and specify the design requirements in area of responsibility.
Lead the Engineering test & validation planning and sign off for systems and components in area of responsibility.
Lead Engineering release and change management process.
Responsible for carrying out required powertrain mounts functional test work activities including actual vehicle testing and measurement.
This includes data acquisition and analysis to provide confirmation of target achievements.

2) Delivery of projects
Responsible for planning and managing project related activities on a throughout a complete project development.
Reporting of project status for area of responsibility in cross functional and project teams.
Advanced understanding of cross functional working with other areas of the business.
Lead an initiate working with suppliers for progressing project deliverables.
Basic financial awareness of their role in the organisation.
Knowledge of cost of parts and systems with an understanding of value engineering.

3) Problem Solving
Ability to solve Highly complex Engineering and design related problems.
Analysis and management of multiple design related issues to identify the root cause.
Collect data, manage data and analyse data to produce reports as appropriate and progress design guidelines .

4) Developing and maintaining Specialist knowledge
Responsible for keeping the functional area up-to-date with technology in area of responsibility.
Capture learning from previous experience.
Work with group partners to Influence group partners to keep up to date with latest group developments.

5)Ability to work within a team
Able to work effectively in the cross functional team.
Lead contribution in delivering team objectives.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums
Design and development skills
Ability to influence colleagues within your area of responsibility
Understanding of financial limits within area of responsibility
Skills required by local area
German language preferable.
Ability to solve problems
Understanding of Health and Safety and capability to complete risk assessment in own area.

Qualifications
Higher Engineering Degree or equivalent
Membership of a relevant professional institution and Chartered Engineer status preferable
The applicant must hold a Full UK (or EU) Driving Licence.
An additional high performance driving qualification and any track-based objective test work would be an advantage.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Significant advanced knowledge of: Design and development; Test and measurement; Engineering drawings; Software tools
Understanding of Product Emergence Process (PEP)
Experience in Powertrain Mounting Systems design (preferably including active and switchable mount technology) and test work is preferred.
