The Role:

Responsible for the expert theoretical and practical whole vehicle refinement skills to deliver whole vehicle acoustic performance. To provide refinement and acoustics expertise in the design, development and problem resolution activities in the engineering functions, to ensure achievement of product acoustic targets.


• Responsible for designing, planning, organising, monitoring and managing own work to enable completion of developement testing for approval by Senior Engineer/ Functional Manager
• Responsible for conducting acoustic testing to support project and technical development requirements
• Responsible for the acquisition, processing of noise and vibration data and for identifying countermeasures, design changes or recommendations as appropriate
• Responsible for reporting technical status and progress to Senior Engineer, Functional Manager and relevant Functional areas
• Responsible for the definition of Whole Vehicle Refinement design input to other Functional areas to enable the development of components and systems, which, when introduced into production, achieve the Whole Vehicle refinement targets, are safe, legal and otherwise fit for purpose (including satisfying liability requirements)
• Accountable for timely delivery of all Product Engineering activities required to achieve timely vehicle launch to quality and cost
• Uses processes of continuous improvement to develop new techniques and processes to improve team effectiveness
• Support overseas working requirements by agreement with local management

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A degree, or equivalent qualification, in a relevant engineering or science discipline
Previous experience in noise & vibration test, measurement and analysis technique

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
German language capability would be advantageous to support test requirments at German proving grounds
