The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
The PT APC PTSE department is specifically responsible for delivery of (PTSE) Cooling, Fuel, Exhaust and Intake systems through to the Vehicle Concept PSC Gateways. This role will support investigations into new complete engine applications for platforms and SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) projects. The candidate will be responsible for scoping all PTSE requirements and implications (i.e. all 4 systems), with support from the individual commodity teams within APC and the Core including Technical Specialists. Initial high level Engine targets will be assessed to determine achievability & impact on PTSE systems prior to the start of Concept Vehicle programs. You will be expected to deliver an agreed functional / cost target handshake. Key to this is determining PT change content along with Emissions future challenges + PTSE future strategy, requiring liason across multiple Powertrain deptartments. Responsibilities include maintaining Target brochures and secure agreement with all stakeholder parties, and planning / delivery of detailed key technical workstreams. note - This is technical role not a Program Management role.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 Key Skills:
1) Understanding and experience of design of Automotive Powertrain Systems.
2) Candidate must be self-motivated and adaptable to changing demands - this is a concepts role, not a delivery team role.
3) Proven capability of working across multiple PT disciplines with conflicting requirements in an environment where the objective is target definition.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years experience in Automotive Engineering. Preferably degree qualified but not essential.

Experience Preferred:
Candidate must be enthusiastic, with a positive approach with the ability to proactively communicate within and outside of the department and operating in an environment where the goal is to develop achievable target definition. Specific knowledge of Vehicle PT Cooling Systems or Exhaust Aftertreatment will be a distinct advantage
