The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
SVO Powertrain is a growing organisation that is responsible for developing performance Powertrain Systems for our client. This role will be to investigate and deliver PTSE system using your own capabilities, core team supplied resource and external service providers to achieve the correct engineering parts and systems.
Work with PT Core Team, PT APC Package Team, SVO APC team and SVO Engineering to deliver designs and commodities
Establish and maintain assumptions for Cost (Tooling, D&D, Piece) and Weight Status
Support Programme gateways event; CAD assessment and RMDV population
Establish and maintain Technical Target Brochure and secure agreement with all stakeholder parties
Concur assumptions with Core Engineering Teams through technical / project reviews
Report overall status to APC Management & Power Train Programme Leaders
Concur assumptions with Manufacturing (BOP) & Service
Document and concur Design Decisions
Determine (joint with Purchasing and Core PTSE team Team) and agree strategic sourcing direction
Agree Early Supplier Involvement and Work Plan pre PSC
Support formal Commodity/System Sourcing to requisite timing

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
3 key skills;
1. Good knowledge of automotive PTSE systems such as Intake systems, Cooling systems and fuel systems.
2. Be able to demonstrate good project management skills. Inc. MS Office fluency.
3. Good engineering knowledge; an understanding of fatigue, durability, validation methods etc.
Self-motivated and adaptable to changing demands
Experience of Powertrain commodity delivery or other commodity
Demonstrable experience of planning and delivering components or systems from concept to production
Demonstrable experience and working knowledge of Concept and Delivery Quality Tool Sets
Powertrain PTSE systems experience in Intakes, Exhausts, Cooling and Fuel systems
Delivery of system and components using engineering service providers
Development and Delivery of DVP plans at system and component level
Development and delivery of engineering systems and components using PCDS
HNC/D required

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Experience in motor sport projects CATIA V5 / Team Centre / Digibuck. Degree in Automotive or Engineering

Additional Information:
This role will require someone who desires a challenge, can innovate challenging design solutions and support the development of SVO Powertrains PTSE capability.
