The Role:
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To ensure maximum availability and minimum downtime of test equipment within the Powertrain test area. This is achieved by coordinating the maintenance and calibration of the test equipment within the Powertrain test area. Maintaining records of the calibration and maintenance of the equipment. It is also required to track the location and usage of powertrain test equipment in test facilities on and off site. Co-ordinate the procurement of new test equipment, jigs and fixtures. Additionally to maintain an orderly and organized stock of consumables for each of the facilities.


POSITION IN ORGANISATION

The Engine Test Facility is part of the Powertrain Test Dept. under the department Functional Manager. The Powertrain Test Parts and Equipment Co-ordinator reports directly to the Senior Engineer – Test and Emissions. The Co-ordinators work is allocated by the Test Engineer – Engine Test and he works closely with the rest of the engine test team and facilities technician, who report to the same Senior Engineer.


SCOPE OF JOB

Coordination

- Track and maintain records of the calibration status of all equipment within the Powertrain test area
- Arrange calibration of all equipment in a timely manner
- Track the maintenance of all equipment within the Powertrain test area
- Arrange maintenance of all equipment in a timely manner
- Co-ordinate and track the use of Powertrain test equipment on and off site
- Co-ordinate procurement of jigs and fixtures and test equipment
- Manage the stocking levels and replenishment of stocks within the consumable stores area
- Participate in Continuous Improvement of facility and working practices

Purchasing

- Fuel, gas and oil ordering
- Purchase of Consumables, COSHH,
- Ordering of test equipment and parts
- Maintenance contracts in line with maintenance schedule.
- Manage the file to show the order status

Finance

- Ensures budget is available with appropriate budget holder
- Recharge the cost of consumables, fuel or leased equipment to the corresponding project code.
- Support project forecasting

Logistics

- Parts/rigging kit/Engines delivery organisation both on and off site
- Rigging kit creation and maintenance.
- Manage the instrumentation/facility periodic maintenance program/request
- Request of order for the tools and instrumentation
- Coordination of delivery of fuel, gas and oil.


EXPERIENCE

- A good general computer literacy and experience of use
- Excellent experience with Excel
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
