Pre-Commissioning Engineer

The Role:
* The leadership and governance of all allocated sub-systems from acceptance for pre-commissioning through to handover to the commissioning team for commissioning and start-up activities.
* Ensure that all pre-commissioning activates are logged recorded with progress monitored within their Sub-system.
* The effective use of the pre-commissioning personnel onsite within their teams.
* Reporting activity clashes that impact schedule on their sub-system to the pre-commissioning team manager as they arise.
* Ensuring that commissioning readiness inspections (CRI) are conducted prior to pre-commissioning activates.
* The permit to work (PTW) process is being followed, maintained and correctly implemented on sub systems under their supervision.
* The effective planning and implementation of all: flushing, blow out, loop testing, validation and preservation of equipment and piping within their allocated sub-system
* Consistently inform the project organisation on the utilisation of commissioning spares, tools and consumable applicable to their sub-system
* To support the project organisation in the ordering and procurement of appropriate materials and equipment for all pre-commissioning activities.
* Continuously monitor and report progress on their sub-system and the performance of the team members to the pre-commissioning team manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Graduate calibre professional engineer.
A minimum 3 years' experience within the industrial gases industry encompassing both design and commissioning activities.
Understands and is knowledgeable in aspects of process commissioning of large multi-functional process systems and equipment.
A proven track record of working within and understanding diverse cultures.
An ability to communicate clearly with a multi-discipline team to achieve consensus towards common goals. With more than 25 nationalities represented at site the ability to work across cultures and language barriers is key.
A strong knowledge of relevant industrial standards and work processes to ensure a safe and practical installation, ready for an efficient progress through the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up phases.
Multi-Train large ASU commissioning experience a significant advantage.
