The Company:
International and publically traded oil & gas exploration and production company.

The Role:
The Principal Explorationist will be a member of an integrated geoscience team actively exploring in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. The successful candidate will integrate geological and geophysical data to establish regional GOM depositional system models with the objective of generating leads for lease sale purchase and third party farm-in opportunities.

The Principal Explorationist will originate drilling opportunities that are based on a strong foundation of integrated regional work that has considered the key risk elements of hydrocarbon charge, reservoir, and trap.

In addition the Principal Explorationist will be trusted to make recommendations regarding further work and data purchases that are required to mature, appraise, or drop drilling candidates/exploration tests, propose new wells, monitor the drilling these wells with assistance from an operations Geologist and help make final well decisions.

Principal Explorationist will mentor exploration team members and take lead on various projects.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
BS/MS in Geology or Geophysics

15+ years of Deepwater Gulf of Mexico exploration

Ability to integrate seismic, well, petrophysical, and field data to produce an exploration model that addresses key risk elements

Determine and recommend what additional data should be acquired to properly address critical risks.

Ability to develop and describe a complete geoscientific interpretation from regional perspective to the prospect level interpretation.

Ability to make and communicate decisions and recommendations regarding exploration opportunities in mature and frontier areas.

Working knowledge of Seismic processing along with the ability to lead a data reprocessing effort.

Ability to manage team projects.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Familiarity with Paradigm's interpretation system would be beneficial.

Fluent in writing and speaking English.
