The Company:
Our Client is a major contractor providing consultancy, engineering and project management services to the world's energy, power and process industries. They are the leading Contracting Company to the Oil and Gas Industry in the UK.

The Role:
Basic Purpose of Job:
Execute Electrical discipline engineering activities within budget and schedule, while maintaining technical integrity, act as discipline focal point as required.

Supervisory and Managerial Duties:
Represent contract or project in corporate engineering function issues

Assist the Lead or Chief Engineer when required in the management of the discipline design function.

Main Duties:
◦Execute engineering activities (Concept, FEED, Technical Study & Detailed Design)
◦Act as discipline focal point as required
◦Maintain the required technical quality of work
◦Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with Change Control Process
◦Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes
◦Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations
◦Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned staff as required
◦Ensure, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
◦Keep up-to-date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope
◦Review, check and approve work output of discipline assigned staff as required
◦Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review
◦Maintain good communication with the Client and visit Assets when necessary
◦Visit the Assets and carry out site surveys when necessary
◦Assist the Lead Engineer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties
◦Assist in training and mentoring of graduates as required
◦Maintain filing system
◦Encourage and provide lateral learning within the Project

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
•Fully conversant with UK regulatory environment, standard offshore international and national industry standards and specifications.
•Management of change experience/skills
•Overall understanding of entire technical value chain integration including estimating, procurement, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, inspection testing and repair.
•Accomplished time management, planning and organisational skills.
•Commitment to core values.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
◦UK Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or minimum HND qualification
◦Preferred chartered engineer status
◦Preferred: current RGIT Survival Training Certificate (or equivalent)
◦Preferred: current Offshore Medical Certificate
