The Company:
Our client is a global leader in engineering and project management services across nuclear, natural resources, clean energy, water and the environmental sectors.

Having entered in to a joint venture with a local leader in Qatar, our client is now a prominent and growing company in the region offering maintenance, shutdown and workshop services, facilities engineering and international supply access for the petrochemical and oil and gas sectors.

The Role:
This is a permanent role based in Qatar. Single status only.

It is essential that candidates have experience of;

• Protection Relay and Power Study
• PMS
• Harmonic Study
• Arc Flash Study

Reporting in to the Lead Electrical Engineer, this role entails;

• Technical reviewing and assist the Lead engineer in delivering the designs meeting the company’s and Client criteria for Technical Design Quality, Technical Safety and within allocated timescale.
• The work involves feasibility, conceptual, FEED and detail design for Onshore/ Offshore Brownfield and Greenfield projects in a developing organisation.

• Responsible for the technical checking/ reviewing the electrical deliverables to safety, quality, cost and time parameters
• Assisting the lead engineer to manage the discipline engineers and interdisciplinary co-ordination and to support the Electrical Project Team in multidiscipline or electrical single discipline projects.
• Development of the electrical department within the Qatar business

• Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract.
• Be responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.
• Carry out work in accordance with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
• Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope.
• Has a good knowledge about electrical power system analysis, load flow, short circuit calculation, protection relay coordination, arc flash and Harmonic study.
• Has experience in ETAP software
• Has good experience in Power Management System (PMS)
• Administer and implement company, and where applicable, client / project policies and procedures
• Ensure the designs comply with relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures.
• Provide technical assistance to business development strategies and activities
• Ensure, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule
• Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in the review.
• Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes.
• Identify scope and schedule changes accordance with the Change Control Process.
• Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project.
• Maintain good communication with the Client.
• Supervision of discipline personnel and allocation of work
• Reviewing, checking and preparing of design/engineering documentation
• Develop and enhance processes and systems for wider use in the discipline
• Undertake development of less experienced personnel and graduates, including mentoring
• Maintain the discipline of the group assigned and deal with the day to day personnel matters
