The Company:
Our Client is an independent Australian oil and gas company playing a key role in supplying energy to our region.

They are one of the world’s leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Prepare fully integrated subsurface interpretations to evaluate the primary risk parameters of structure presence and effectiveness, reservoir presence and effectiveness as well as charge at basin, play, and prospect scale
• Interpret technical data over targeted acreage, finalize maps and support data, evaluate risk, prepare recommendations for bids and farm-in offers
• Identify and evaluate acreage available through farmins/joint venture opportunities, gazettals and asset sales
• Propose and manage geoscience studies with appropriate internal and external service providers
• Assist in the preparation of volumetric & economic analyses for prospects & plays
• Evaluate and recommend geological and seismic data acquisition plans for assessed opportunities to realise perceived value
• Recognise and recommend commercially attractive business opportunities
• Lead the recommendations on high-grade acreage in which to pursue new play concepts and which areas to cease work
• Monitor/evaluate competitors’ activities within focus regions
• High quality presentations of results and recommendations of own and team work to peers and management. Able to distil copious and/or disparate data down to key messages and insights
• Build and maintain mutually beneficial technical relationships with other Woodside functional and asset teams
• Handle tasks efficiently while working cooperatively with multiple team members
• Mentor less experienced team members build and strengthen the New Ventures capabilities
• Frequent travel will be required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• BSC (Hons) or MSc. in Geology or Geophysics
• Significant Geoscience technical leadership experience
• Knowledge and understanding of multiple basins globally, varied structural styles and depositional settings, analogous geology, sequence stratigraphy, analogue fields and seismic attributes
• Experience with Linux and Windows platforms, with the ability to use any interpretation platform used by the operator of coveted acreage (Petrel, Kingdom, Landmark etc)
• Strong knowledge of sequence stratigraphic analysis, structural geology, subsurface and seismic mapping
• Skilled in Play Based Exploration
• Significant experience in seismic interpretation is required.
• Strong technical background in the practical application of geological and geophysical technologies such as 2D and 3D seismic reflection data and their derivative products (AVO, inverse and forward modelling, poststack and prestack time & depth migration)
• Knowledge of velocity modelling, synthetic seismograms,
