The Company:
Our Client is a multi-discipline engineering design company providing design, procurement, project and construction management consultancy services.

The company is a flexible, responsive and pro-active business that has successfully delivered projects ranging from small-scale studies through to multi-million dollar new build programmes.

The Role:
My client is looking for Principle Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer for an FPSO new build project based in Teesside.

Main duties are as follows:

Deputise for Lead Instrument Engineer as required.
Ensure correct execution of instrument engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study & Detailed Design).
Ensure that the required technical quality of work is maintained.
Ensure that discipline personnel assigned meet the required competency criteria including carrying out appraisals and identifying training.
Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with Change Control Process
Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes
Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations
Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned staff as required
Ensure, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
Ensure that the team members are kept up-to-date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline.
Review, check and approve work output of discipline assigned staff as required
Ensure that estimates and schedules are carried out in a consistent and realistic manner.
Maintain good communication with the Client and visit Assets when necessary
Review and set discipline resource levels under his control to ensure the ideal number of personnel to meet workload and schedule with maximum efficiency.
Visit the Assets and carry out site surveys when necessary
Assist the Lead Engineer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties
Assist in training and mentoring of graduates as required
Maintain filing system
Encourage and provide lateral learning within the Project
Delivering quality, cost effective and timely engineering services in a demanding environment of change, short interval planning and conflicting priorities

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
UK Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or minimum HND qualification (or in an relevant subject area)

chartered engineer status
current RGIT Survival Training Certificate (or equivalent)
current Offshore Medical Certificate
Familiar with brownfield Instruments engineering in the O&G industry.
Working familiarity with the Pressure Equipment Regulations.
