The Company:
Our Client is a multi-discipline engineering design company providing design, procurement, project and construction management consultancy services.

The company is a flexible, responsive and pro-active business that has successfully delivered projects ranging from small-scale studies through to multi-million dollar new build programmes.

The Role:
• Responsible for the technical integrity of the design produced by the discipline.
• Development of overall concepts and specifications for engineering designs in particular discipline.
• Overseeing the engineering work carried out in the section.
• Advising and guiding Engineers, Designers and Draughtspersons
• Identification of competency training requirement and informing the Manager of Engineering for implementation.
• Liaising with Clients on engineering contracts and design services
• Liaison with the Manager of Engineering with regard to workload and resource planning.
• Preparation and/or approval of manhour estimates.
• Liaising with other engineering disciplines to ensure interdisciplinary compatibility on projects.
• Implementation of approved quality procedures in the section.
• Discipline Representative for sales support & client presentations.
• Deliver the engineering scope to design budgets and programmes
• Co-ordinate/liaise with other Engineering disciplines/client/package vendors
• Prepare, check and/or approve design calculations, specifications, data sheets, reports, scope of work and drawings to International Standards and Codes of Practice
• Monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and client standards
• Design input to 3D model
• Prepare Technical Analysis of proposals provided by equipment manufacturers and contractors
• Interpret vendor and other discipline drawings/information
• Attend and participate in risk reviews, planning reviews and model reviews.
• Identify and raise scope changes
• Comply with Company Quality Manager Systems
• Report to Department Manager and Project Manager
• Other professional duties reasonably required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Chartered Engineer status/degree or equivalent in the related engineering subject or technical ability commensurate with a Graduate Engineer of the same age.
• Extensive experience in the appropriate discipline, including the design of plant systems.
• Experience of team management.
• Thorough knowledge of Engineering Practices, Codes and Regulations related to the particular discipline.
