The Company:
One of the world's largest independent oil and natural gas exploration and production companies.

The Role:
Position responsibilities will include:

• Provide and Lead IT customer support services for HBNS and El Merk field areas.
• Monitor system performance and respond to all hardware, software, well automation, and network (including wireless network) inquiries by clarifying technical issues and resolving problems first hand or by coordinating other resources as necessary. Analyze and resolve problems utilizing knowledge of computer access controls and departmental procedures.

• Identify and initiate resolutions to customer issues associated with computing hardware and software for given areas. Support business departments, as well as other IT teams, and provide quality customer support through troubleshooting and desk side support.

• Provide a facilitation role between IT and Telecoms and your supported field locations. Project Management experience is a plus as well as the ability to handle deployments and releases of software and hardware upgrades.

• Share responsibility across Helpdesk, Other Customer Support Teams, ITS, Field Automation Team, and Business Lines. Position will have direct support responsibilities for a field area and the ability to rotate within various functional and technical areas based on demonstrated ability and business need.

• Log and track all incidents/service requests using appropriate case tracking tools and maintain solution documentation in order to provide knowledge for all team members and business areas. Also, mediate problems, process breakdowns, hand-offs, and/or service delivery issues between the field and the various ITT support groups.

• Communication skills - Prepare written and verbal presentations and reports. Provide management with timely and accurate status reports. Keep local assigned sites informed of upcoming activities. Keep customer base informed of changes and issues with the IT environment. Work with other ITT groups to ensure a positive customer experience.

• Maintain hardware asset inventory of all ITT assets in assigned areas. Requisition and install personal computers, software, and peripheral equipment as needed by business lines and in accordance with ITT policies.

• Support applications as determined by business area and ensure compliance with licensing. Model a strong work ethic and take the lead on a variety of support initiatives. Be flexible and willing to adapt to changing business requirements. Continuously learn technologies, customer business needs, and apply technologies to customer needs.

• Must be physically able to maneuver hardware and equipment in sometimes restrained spaces.

• Work to ensure that the field and its remote locations are provided IT services that meet or exceed their needs.

• Conduct formal and informal end-user training on use of various applications and hardware.

Certifications / Licenses
None required. ITIL v3, CCNA, PMP would be a plus.

Travel Requirements
This position requires 28 day rotations into Algeria and will be required to travel among the various field sites.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Educational Requirements
College graduate in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field; Equivalent work experience pertaining to oil & gas, information technologies, and remote field office support may be acceptable.

Qualifications for this position include:

• Possess relevant oil and gas business knowledge and IT work experience in business analysis, troubleshooting ITS related issues.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Windows 7 & Windows XP, as well as Server 2003 & 2008, and support of computers and peripherals in a network environment is required, as well as PDA/SmartPhone familiarity and connectivity.

• Experience with networking, wireless, desktop and notebook PCs, servers, printers, data cabling standards, field automation systems, video conferencing and audio visual systems.

• Communication skills (written and verbal) and proven customer support skills. English required, French and Arabic a plus.
