They are one of the world’s leading producers of liquefied natural gas, helping meet the demands for cleaner energy from Japan, China, Korea and other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Principal Materials & Corrosion Engineer to provide overall co-ordination and technical advice in the fields of, corrosion, welding and metallurgy (materials) across projects/facilities that will assist in enabling the maximum business value of the project to be realised.

Key accountabilities:
•Provide specialist knowledge in the fields of materials and corrosion engineering
•Provide specialist knowledge in the field of corrosion protection including coatings, cathodic protection, corrosion inhibition and materials selection
•Provide technical audit checklists for major purchased and fabricated components
•Assist Project suppliers and contractors to understand the materials technical requirements in tenders, purchase orders and contracts
•Provide input to materials and fabrication specifications
•Review and approve Contractors’ materials, welding and metallurgical related specifications and procedures
•Provide technical input to supplier/contractor prequalification
•Provide input to tender packages
•Provide input to tender evaluation

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The Principal Materials and Corrosion Engineer role requires tertiary qualifications in Welding and metallurgy and or Corrosion Engineering with significant experience in the oil & gas industry including research, development and fabrication experience.
