The Company:
Our client is one of the worlds largest providers of technical services across a wide range of sectors, including nuclear.

The Role:
The successful candidate will join a growing team of Mechanical Engineers and Designers.

Experience in piping design and plant layout is preferred.

The candidate must be self-motivated and capable of prioritising work activities to meet challenging Client deadlines. They must be able to conduct themselves professionally and with integrity.

Responsibilities;

Project Controls and Resourcing:
Ensure a proactive and balanced approach to safety (Nuclear, radiological, conventional and environmental)
Progress reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer
Delivery to time, cost and quality in line with agreed project schedule and budget

Design Support:
Technical delivery of Mechanical engineering design
Production of Mechanical drawings (e.g. GA’s, fabrication isometrics and pipe support details).
Undertake self-checking of design deliverables prior to issue for formal checking
Ensuring that drawings confirm to the Client’s standards and procedures
Providing comments on key design deliverables from other disciplines
Liaison/interface with Client team
Participation in key technical meetings (e.g. Single/Multi-Discipline Design Reviews, HAZOPs, HAZCONs etc.)
Carry out Site Surveys
Regular communication with other discipline leads to ensure effective design co-ordination
Drafting responses to Technical Queries before issuing to the Engineering Manager for approval

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
HNC qualified, or ONC (or equivalent) with appropriate years experience.
Fully conversant with AutoCAD and associated software.
Good working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Nuclear Industry experience preferred.
Knowledge of Sellafield Procedures and Standards preferred.
Minimum basic, ‘SC’ Level or above is preferred.
