The Company:
Our Client's subsea expertise is based on more than 75 years of design, installation, and manfacturing of subsea equipment, control systems and related products/ services. Service to the Oil & Gas industry began in the 1920s.

The Role:
This role provides the engineering service to design, develop and configure Mechanical and Hydraulic products for the SPS within the typical product range and associated sub-assemblies detailed below (but not limited to):
• Modules & Mounting Bases
• Subsea Distribution Equipment
• Surface Distribution Equipment
• Instrumentation – Pressure / Temperature Sensors, Flow Meters, Metering Valves
• Associated Test Equipment
• Directional Control Valves
• Hydraulic Couplings & Electrical Connectors
• Housings & Drilled Manifolds
The main roles performed in the day to day execution of the services are as follows:
• Understanding of all relevant International Standards.
• Develop standard products to meet client requirements & specifications.
• Creating Materials and Bills of Materials (SAP knowledge preferred).
• Prepare / Check
o Drawings & generate documentation as per requirements and specifications.
o Technical calculations for material strength & integrity.
o Product Data Sheets which define the associated product range / limitations.
o Functional Design and Procurement Specifications defining the product requirements.
o Test Procedures.
• Manage and generate Engineering Change Orders.
• Perform and oversee Design Reviews.
• Provide support and direction for Engineering, Tendering, Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
• Provide technical & commercial product benchmarking.
• Maintain and improve / simplify our design and operating processes.
• Lead and provide guidance
o In the development / establishment of new technologies and core technical competencies.
o To Mechanical Engineer for the reviewing of client specifications, to ensure products are suitable for application.
o To Mechanical Engineer to ensure optimum mechanical solutions will work with current product or proposed products.
o To Mechanical Engineer in the development of prototypes, verification / validation units and product specifications, including material specifications, assembly drawings and manufacturing documentation.

• Liaise with Systems Solutions department and other engineering disciplines to ensure that non-qualified products and developments meet the current and foreseeable future Project requirements.
• Has a continual awareness of new / advancing technologies, meet with / assess Suppliers and provides conceptual and practical applications for products used.
• Provide sustaining engineering direction and support for existing products.
• Manage activities of Senior Engineers and mentor Mechanical Engineers / Graduates in their day to day work.
• Perform / assist with appraisals of Engineers and Graduates.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Degree or HNC / HND with relevant industry experience.
Demonstrable relevant Mechanical Engineering experience preferably within the Oil and Gas industry.
Will have a sound working knowledge of offshore industry best practices.
Demonstrable experience in the ability to carry out all elements of mechanical design within Topside & Subsea Controls Systems covering Mechanical and Hydraulic products, material selection and welding practices.
Preferably Chartered Engineer Status.
Candidates / job-holders without the relevant formal qualifications above but possessing other academic or vocational qualifications or who can demonstrate a greater level of relevant practical experience with a proven track-record may be considered equally competent.

Have a proven involvement with multi-disciplined Projects, and be familiar with equipment and activities throughout all levels of business.
