The Company:
A leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on developing its world-class reserves for domestic and international supply.

The Role:
As the Principle Mechanical Engineer, you will report to the Engineering Manager, as part of the LNG Operations Engineering team working on the midstream, Greenfield works. You will be responsible for the engineering and integrity of LNG plant and equipment, providing engineering support to the design, construction and commissioning teams. Supervising representatives within the Mechanical, Static & Rotating Equipment and Inspection Engineering disciplines, as well, third party contractors.

There will be two key areas of activities and accountabilities, that of moving from project phase to operational phase; thereafter into providing engineering support to the LNG Plant in operations phase.

During the Project to Operational phase you will be responsible for managing engineering issues and providing technical support to all project and operational teams. Including assisting with the development of engineering documents for the operations phase of the project; the development of plant and equipment maintenance strategies and procedures; and ensuring engineering compliance (e.g., statutory requirements, JV requirements, permits, legislative approvals).

You will participate in design reviews (including Hazops and SIL reviews) during detailed design and construction; Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on behalf of Operations; and monitor and make recommendations on technology advances.

In Operations phase, you will be responsible for providing engineering support to the LNG plant and facilities: Managing the integrity of the plant through maintenance, inspection and engineering change control; for compliance with international, local and site specific standards. ensuring all modifications follow the Management of Change process and ensuring the timely action and closure of Engineering Change Requests.

Overseeing the reactive and preventative maintenance programs (scope and frequency) to ensure maximum facility uptime including critical function testing; defining scope of Shutdown and Major Maintenance activities; managing expenditure of approved budget items and participating in or leading incident investigations.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Tertiary mechanical engineering qualification .
• Chartered status and RPEQ preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years experience in static equipment within LNG operational engineering support role
• Experience in the development of engineering processes / procedures; and in the management of contractors
• Strong knowledge of API, ASME and Australian Standards pertaining to materials, inspection and pressured equipment.
