The Role:
Position is for a Senior Petroleum Engineer with demonstrable reservoir/production engineering support experience, working within a multidisciplinary subsurface team in support of field development and responsible for optimizing the performance of existing development wells.

Carry out Petroleum Engineering studies, oversee and coach/mentor other junior PE engineers in work across a large number of projects. Experienced all aspects of petroleum technology including inflow performance optimisation, completion design, control and management. Identify well intervention opportunities and develop workover proposals for field implementation. The Principal Petroleum engineer is responsible for UK reservoir monitoring and reporting to both partners and authorities.

Engineering Studies
Carry out petroleum engineering studies and project work in line with the company objectives. Communicate through verbal, presentation and written medium, the progress and the findings of the study.
Participate and coordinate HQ production group studies. Ensure good data transmission, well operation time schedule and related field observation to HQ engineers. In coordination with subsidiary’s production department, ensure that approved recommendations are implemented.

Production allocation
Responsible for the production database which includes monthly allocation, well tests, parameters, events, deviation and static pressure data. The Principal Petroleum Engineer is responsible for both data quality and data entry process from the field to HQ.

Well Surveillance
Identifies key metrics for well and artificial lift surveillance and tracks the metrics.
Prepares well surveillance plans, processes and tools for efficiently monitoring well performance. Assess and report reservoir and well performance, identify performance deviations, production improvement options and additional surveillance needs. Diagnosis well performance deviations to identify causes. Forwards reservoir issues.
Coordinates with drilling and operations to schedule well and reservoir surveillance data gathering activities in the field to minimize the impact.

Well Optimization
Provide cost effective solutions to Production Technology challenges. Demonstrating the sound use of engineering skills and reporting the results clearly and concisely.
Carry out work in compliance with the company and industry standards with a high level of cost efficiency.
Identify future work opportunities and refer the opportunities to the company.
Identify production well candidates for remedial wellwork (workovers, stimulation, recompletions, etc) that add value through improved gas production and reservoir performance. Prepare remedial wellwork value propositions, obtain necessary approvals and forward to well services for field implementation and execution.
Maintains a prioritized inventory of work over and stimulation opportunities and works with drilling, operations, production department to schedule and execute the work.
Lead reservoir and well performance production loss review meetings, validate reservoir and well production losses and identify options for eliminating future production losses.
When working in operational assignments, ensure that all operations are undertaken according to the company's policies and procedures. Prepares well operating guidelines and procedures for field personnel as appropriate.

Well test planning/design and interpretation
Liaise with head Office and site personnel to ensure regular and accurate well testing. Supervise and ensure reporting of well testing operation.

Others
Identify, monitor and assess novel technologies, software and operating practices, which could benefit the company.
Assists in the preparation of budget and work programs and subsequent reviews and monitors execution versus the plan.
Provides technical specifications for service and equipment contract tendering, evaluation and implementation.
Plan and organize fit-for-purpose training for junior PE staff.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A good grounding in petroleum engineering is required. Strong communications skills, including the ability to interact effectively with a broad range of technical specialists and partners are necessary, as is the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and the ability to communicate results and interpretations to management.

- University degree or equivalent education/experience (ideally MSc in Petroleum Engineering)
