The Role:
Fircroft are seeking a Principal Pipe Stress Engineer for an EPC contractor within Aberdeen. Candidates must have 10 years + experience in the oil and gas industry and must have covered work on offshore projects.

Responsible For:
Producing accurate, compliant Pipe Stress deliverables in line with contract requirements.
The integration of the Pipe Stress design into the overall project work-scope & ensuring that Commissioning, Maintenance and Operational requirements are included within the design.

Detailed Description:
Execute and coordinate the execution of stress analysis activities for the Piping discipline within budget and schedule and maintain technical integrity.
Execute and coordinate the execution of stress analysis activities associated with piping engineering (Concept, FEED, technical Study & Detailed Design).
Supervision of pipe Stress staff under their control & responsible for the technical quality of work produced by them.
Approval of engineering documents created by the pipe stress team.
Provide direction and guidance to the team in technical and resource related issues.
Manage the delivery of discipline deliverables for use by contract or project.
Provide the necessary cost, planning and progress information to the contract or project
Support the Lead Engineer in discipline engineering function activities.
Ensure that all allocated responsibilities are dealt with in accordance with agreed procedures & standards.
Production of cost effective designs that are fit for purpose and safe.
Identification of appropriate resources for engineering works and forward planning of resources, taking into account cross asset requirements
Responsible for assessing and identifying deviations to standards, that will benefit WGPSN & Client, and gaining acceptance of Client Technical Authorities
Progress of the works under their control and the achievement of targets.
Responsible for reporting progress as per company systems and procedures
Producing engineering deliverables registers and controlling the works against those registers
Identification of increase or reduction in scope, raising the necessary support documents for Project Control Purposes
Provide mentoring to Graduate / Developing Engineers

Job Requirements:
Understanding of entire technical value chain integration including estimating, studies, conceptual and detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, inspection, testing and repair.
Ensure that the Client business drivers and WGPSN performance incentives are fully understood by all personnel being supervised.
Assure Technical Integrity of the discipline output on the contract or project.
Assurance that personnel within the Pipe Stress group are competent.
Identification of inadequacies in personnel and proposing solutions such as training, coaching or replacement

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Fully conversant with ASME B31.3, PED, BS8010, ASME VIII, PD5500, BS EN 13480, ASME B16.5, API 6D, NEMA SM 23, API 610, API 617, etc.
Fully conversant with latest revision of Caesar II stress analysis software package. Both Dynamic and Static analysis.
Conversant with latest revision of Caesar II structural modeller
Conversant with engineering software including latest version of Mathcad.
Conversant with general IT software including Word and Excel
Knowledge of drafting software including 2D/3D CAD systems (Autocad, Microstation & PDMS)
Significant experience in Piping Engineering and Pipe Stress Engineering
Oil and Gas related experience
Previous supervisory experience
Preferable Chartered Engineer Status with a recognised degree qualification
