Our Client is a multi-discipline engineering design company providing design, procurement, project and construction management consultancy services.

The company is a flexible, responsive and pro-active business that has successfully delivered projects ranging from small-scale studies through to multi-million dollar new build programmes.

The Role:
My client based on Teesside are looking for a Principal Mechanical Piping Engineer for a FPSO new build project.

The Role

To provide mechanical engineering expertise in static, i.e. Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Filters, packaged equipment and to provide support to a multi-discipline engineering team through the Detail Design, Construction and Commissioning / Start Up.


Supervise and review Engineering Contractor documentation during the execution of detailed design, procurement and, in a later stage, construction activities, ensuring the quality and cost control of the works is according to the contract requirements, and guaranteeing that the project targets (timing, cost and quality) are correctly met.
Provide technical expertise and support the Engineering Managers requirement relevant to possible queries coming from the Contractors.
Ensure a smooth and effective transfer of data and information between Contractors (in the event of Contractor change from Phase to Phase).
Lead the identification, creation, and/or adoption of appropriate mechanical engineering Codes & Standards with standards and norms.
Identify and assess correct technologies and systems to facilitate improvements in design and operability.
Advise on mechanical equipment standardization, availability, and sparing philosophies.
Undertake technical integrity and HSE reviews/audits.
Participate in process safety management.
Provide assistance to the construction contractor(s) on all mechanical aspects of the Static Equipment.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
Professional membership of recognised institute and/or Chartered Status
