The Role:
A new position has a arisen for a Principal Planner to join our clients Perth based Project Controls team.

Principle Planner role is a centralised position for the overall planning and scheduling effort for the Asset and Integrity Maintenance Project plan as a function of the integrated asset plan (5yr, 2yr to 120 day). The role is to combine processes, people and systems to deliver maximum added value to the organisation.

Reporting to the AIM Project Controls Manager

• Engage all onshore and offshore stakeholders to ensure there is alignment with the project plan and the integrated planning process in line with deliverables.
• Prepare forecast data and trends to management to enable prompt decision making and risk mitigation.
• Ensure the project planning processes are applied by the project planning team.
• Provide leadership in the development of the Project plan for all onshore deliverables and offshore activities towards the objectives of the Project and company.
• Being the centralized focal point for all Planning issues and facilitating the identification of constraints, exploiting opportunities and optimizing the Project Plan.
• Continuous improvement - review and development of project specific processes and procedures.
• Develop and ensure compliance with the project work order and coding structure.
• Oversee the planning element of the Scope Variation Request process.
• Responsible for the control and monitoring of the planning data input into computerized maintenance management system and synchronizing into Primavera schedules.
• Mentoring and development of the planning team to raise planning and scheduling competencies.
• Promote the use of the project plan as the only tool for planning and re-emphasizing the need to follow correct procedures in relation to plan development and compliance.
• Responsible for following the processes to integrate the project plan with the major capital projects and shutdown plans.
• Focal point for preparation and analysis of resource histograms to ensure early forecasting of trade mix requirements are met onshore and offshore to meet project milestones.
• Develop and manage the planning metrics and reports.
• Focal point for management of project baselines and early identification of deviations from baseline scope. Central role for re-baselining efforts.
• Foster integration between the onshore planning team and AIM offshore execution team

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Minimum qualification is Trade/Diploma level qualification in Electrical or Mechanical field.
• Advanced Maintenance Management System Skills.
• Advanced Primavera Skills
• Maintenance Management System (SAP) expert.
• Strong background in project planning and scheduling using Primavera.
• Experience with Plant shutdown/turnaround activities, including planning, resource requirements, and cost management.
• Have strong negotiation skills and conflict resolution ability.
• Have supervisory skills.
• Have an expert knowledge of Maintenance Planning.
• Strong PC skills including the use of MS Word, Excel, and Project.
• Able to adjust to changing schedules and priorities.
• Must be very flexible to a changing work environment, including schedule changes, work prioritizing, employee work assignments, etc. Willing to work flexible hours to complete work assignments.
• Ability to understand and interpret P&IDs and vendor drawings
