The Company:
Our client is a leading engineering solutions provider for blue-chip companies in the UK.

The Role:
To act as project process Engineer on those projects which are assigned by the Chief Process Engineer and to supervise and carry out Process design work on such projects.

To be responsible for checking and approval of design work in accordance with Company Procedures when so authorised by the Chief Process Engineer.

To act as proposals Process Engineer on proposals which are assigned by the Chief Process Engineer and to supervise and carry out design work for such proposals.

To assist the Chief Process Engineer as instructed in administration work within the group.

To plan for adequate resources and to monitor and report design progress and man-hour usage.

To liaise with other disciplines as required.

To provide support to Sales Department and Construction/Commissioning Departments as required.

To cascade information to individuals on organisational performance, policy and procedures and to report back to senior management subordinate comments and recommendations for improvements in performance and removal of constraints that are preventing performance.

To offer advice and support to colleagues and subordinates on development needs taking into account work activities, learning ability and circumstances.

To provide training, information or instruction and to give feedback. To set objectives, to assist colleagues and subordinates in achieving the objectives, to conduct performance reviews and issue to line managers.

To be aware of legal and organisational responsibilities regarding Health, Safety and Environmental issues with respect to employees, contractors, clients and third parties, ensuring that activities are managed in accordance with Company policy and client requirements.



A Principal Process Engineer will normally be the most senior engineer of his discipline on a particular project. He will have full authority to act for that discipline when delegated to do so by the Process Group Chief Engineer.

Process engineering is the fundamental discipline upon which process plant design is based. Process Engineers therefore provide the basic design information which enables other disciplines to proceed with project and proposal work. Process engineering work can therefore have a significant impact on project costs and programme.


The job holder reports to a Chief Process Engineer. On assignment to a task force with authority delegated by the Chief Process Engineer the job holder will report on that project to an Engineering Co-ordination Manager or Project Manager as appropriate.

On projects Senior Process Engineers and Process Engineers report to the job holder and the number of personnel reporting at any time is dependent on the size of the project and/or the nature and scope of work being undertaken.

Ensure personal compliance with current company policy, relevant legislation and company and client's requirements for Health, Safety and Environmental matters and work in such a manner not to cause personal harm or injury to fellow workers, client and subcontractor employees or the environment.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
A degree in Chemical Engineering.

Chartered Engineer and/or 10 years experience in the field of Process design.
