The Company:
Our client, a major international oil company, has an immediate need for a Contract Reservoir Engineer to consult on their Canadian SAGD assets team.
They will only accept resumes/c.vs from Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents with SAGD experience.

The Role:
The Senior Reservoir Engineer will report to the Team Leader, Reservoir Engineering and be responsible for reservoir activities on company operated properties to optimize profitability of a SAGD Asset. Duties are assigned from time to time but initially will be to:
• Contribute to the success of our projects by working effectively in a team environment with Geology, Geophysics, Petrophysics and other Engineering disciplines
• Conduct numerical modelling, subsurface studies, analogue evaluations, and reservoir evaluation as required and according to job assignments
• Support the water management team acting as key contact and subsurface engineering representative for Leismer source and disposal well planning, including test design, evaluation of results, providing recommendations, and liaison with regulatory agencies as required for the project expansion
• Generate production forecasts using different reservoir simulators, production analysis and other reservoir engineering techniques according to Best Practice
• Analyze subsurface and surface field data to obtain key reservoir/well performance parameters and provide assessment to the Team Lead
• Perform regional studies (including analyzing competitor public data) to improve understanding of the SAGD process
• Generate risked OBIP, production profiles, and recoverable volumes for the project.
• Assist with regulatory processes including technical justifications to the regulator and offsetting operators
• Provide assistance in establishing a strong team competency and mentor and support less experienced Engineers, EITs and intern students.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• APEGGA membership (P.Eng. designation) is required.
• 10+ years experience in reservoir engineering and related experience working within an integrated team including Geology, Geophysics and other Engineering disciplines.
• 3+ years Exposure to the SAGD development process is required.
• Reservoir experience in thermal recovery of Heavy Oil or Oil Sands is required.
• Exposure to hybrid-SAGD processes and/or Gas-Over-Bitumen is preferred.
• Experience with STARS, Exotherm or Eclipse Thermal simulation is required

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
It will be necessary for the candidate on occasion to operate independently under varying timelines and generate recommendations to the Team Lead often using poor quality, conflicting, and/or non-existent data.
