Principal Specialist, Scheduling/Planning

The Role:
• Prepare/maintain and communicate the contractual programme to meet all external and internal requirements, including progress reporting

• Prepare a resourced programme, including reviewing the outcome for conformance with requirements

• Prepare resource schedules for use at review

• Preparation of detailed logic networks.

• Resource loading of direct-hire and subcontractor’s resources

• Preparation of resultant Bar Charts and Resource Histograms, and planned ‘S’ curves

• Monitor work and update plans and schedules with actual physical progress

• Incorporate changes into plans

• Identify variances, and potential variances, from baseline plans and discuss with project manager potential corrective action required to ensure schedule compliance

• Review and comment on subcontractor’s plans to ensure compliance with overall Master Plan

• Manage personally controlled project documentation in an orderly manner

• Prepare option studies and develop new works proposals in consultation with the client

• Assimilate information and summarising it in a manner that can be used to communicate the work scope to others

• Attend progress meetings

• Advise and liaise with project client, stakeholder and end user

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Substantial experience of engineering, procurement and construction

• Substantial experience of working on construction sites with construction and commissioning schedules

• Substantial Experience of Primavera P6

• Excellent interrogatory skills to gather information from engineers, procurement managers and customer’s construction and/or commissioning teams

• Proficiency in English language. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to articulate thoughts and questions clearly and logically. Will be required to run workshops with non-native English speakers and make regular presentations to the customer.

• Competent user of Word/Excel – must be able to type at a reasonable speed using both hands

• Ability to work flexibly including long hours at short notice

• Valid driver’s license

• Team Player but also experience of working autonomously

• Must demonstrate experience in all
