The Role:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Supervise and Lead a team of engineers and designers in carrying out engineering design work for EPC projects assuming
entire responsibility for Conceptual, FEED and Detailed Design. Provide necessary technical information for procurement
in compliance with tender specifications/data sheets and within budgeted man-hour and project schedules. Determine
methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and select the most efficient and economical manner in meeting
the objectives. Apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses within the pipeline discipline. Typically accountable
to Lead Engineer Pipelines and/or Engineering Manager.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
 As either a Lead Engineer on a project or reporting to the Lead Engineer on a larger project for feasibility, conceptual,
FEED, detailed design or EPC Projects.
 Organise inputs and supervise the preparation of pipeline engineering deliverables including philosophies,
specifications, routing studies, mechanical design, material selection and Take Offs, corrosion protection, stress
analysis, layouts, drawings, data sheets, and technical Requisitions and Bid Evaluations.
 Identifies and resolves technical discrepancies and divergences from original proposals by the raising of technical
queries/deviations with projects/client as required.
 Administer the Purchase Requisitions for the procurement of equipment and materials.
 Interface and meet with clients, vendor representatives, project management and other engineering disciplines.
 Ensure strict compliance with Company’s ISO Quality procedures.
 Interface and provide clarifications, guidance and technical support to construction sites.
 Review ITB (Invitation to Bid) documents. Supervise and coordinate estimation work for tendering.
 Review contract requirements for project execution, organise the preparation of the Technical Document Register.
 Verify and conceptualise the most optimum work routes.
 Coordinate with projects/planning on project time schedules.
 Develop manpower charts and schedules. Assign and distribute manpower.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum requirements:
 4-yr Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering
 Minimum of 15 years of related and proven track record and experience preferably from a background in working for
Engineers/Client organisations in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Technical
 Demonstrates overall supervision and administrative oversight of personnel including engineers, designers and
technical specialists.
 Coordinates to achieve productive relationship with the onshore/ offshore engineering centres within the
organisation.
 Provides necessary guidance on manpower planning and takes responsibility for performance management of his/her
team and provides support for recruitment.
 Provides technical expertise and support during various phases of the project design and execution.
 Demonstrates experience and expertise with various engineering deliverables and procurement engineering and is
aware of commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of the department’s scope of work.
 Assists in the planning and management of departmental/team objectives, budgets and resource requirements.
 Promotes innovation, departmental improvement and team working for continuous improvement of knowledge base,
cost-consciousness, and Quality and Safety Procedures.
 Ensures and facilitates an awareness of HSSE in all design activities across the discipline.
 Promotes Quality Control throughout their team ensuring that their team works within the Quality Management
System and participates in regular quality audits.
 Analyses exposure to risk and quantifies potential for losses, applying logical solutions for managing the risks taken
through composition and implementation of contingency plans.
 Knowledge and experience off but not limited to the following, Pipeline Flow Hydraulics and Flow Assurance plus
associated pipeline software systems e.g. Pipesim, Pipeflo, Olga, Auto pipe, Caesar and Mathcad etc.
 Thorough knowledge of international codes and standards applicable to oil and gas pipeline systems, i.e. ASME, API,
DIN and FSU.
 Knowledge and experience of Project Control applications including but not limited Primavera and Technical
Deliverable Registers systems.
