The Role:
Our client has asked us to source a Principle Safety and Risk Engineer to join the Safety & Risk Team in Brisbane. As an established Process Engineer, with a strong focus and background within Process Safety, you will provide leadership and direction to the area, as well as influencing work scopes and budget allocation. This role will also require you to lead the formal review teams and provide technical expertise and advice to more junior members of staff.

This permanent position will provide long term opportunity and progression to the incumbent with experience in the process industries and a strong interest in Safety Engineering. The incumbent must already have the right to live and work in Australia, as the client is unable to offer visa assistance.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to conducting/performing:
• Hazard Studies (project or existing facilities), using Concept Studies, HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, Bow-tie analysis
• Consequence and Likelihood Modelling for dispersion, jet fire and explosion
• Safety Management Studies
• Escape, Evacuation, Rescue and Muster Analysis
• Emergency Systems Survivability Assessments
• QRA's
• Safety Case Development and Process Safety Management

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree qualified with significant experience in process industries and technical expertise
• Comfortable leading formal review teams
• Proven capabilities in managing scopes of work within an allocated budget
• Posses strong inter-personal, report-writing and communication skills

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Post graduate qualifications in Process Safety will be highly regarded
