The Role:
SUMMARY
Assess the effectiveness of a business function and offer recommendations. Recommend
and implement ways to improve efficiency, eliminate waste, reduce cost, increase customer
satisfaction, and improve safety. Identify ways to make things better and track progress.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

SAFETY & QUALITY:
¬ Observe all Safety rules and Regulations.
¬ Maintain conditions according to Good Manufacturing Practices.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT EXPERTISE:
¬ Act as a change agent for leading and managing continuous improvement processes
while instilling a culture of accountability.
¬ Lead continuous improvement events resulting in employee skill and knowledge
development and KPI performance improvement.

PROBLEM SOLVING:
¬ Lead problem-solving efforts to improve quality and eliminate waste in all areas
throughout the Manufacturing areas. Instil a “hands-on” systematic approach to problem
solving. Incorporate root cause analysis and verify that permanent corrective actions are
implemented.
¬ Act as the “go to” technical support for process improvement knowledge and strategies
for employees at all levels in the Manufacturing organization.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
¬ Partner with Manufacturing leaders. Track continuous improvement ideas and the status of projects in the
Continuous Improvement funnel. Assist with financial costs for new projects.
¬ Engage the Manufacturing team in the continuous improvement process to ensure that
projects are identified, prioritized and implemented in a timely and effective manner.

ANALYTICAL SKILLS:
¬ Maintain metrics, analyse results and develop improvement plans. Assure initiatives are
completed to meet safety, quality and cost goals. Identify and implement metrics to
evaluate the effectiveness of process improvements.
¬ Apply analysis to improve process capability.

COMMUNICATIONS:
¬ Teach and reinforce Manufacturing leaders and associates to identify, implement and
complete improvement projects by identifying and eliminating barriers to success.
¬ Ensure that all business related items are successfully and professionally communicated
to co-workers, either verbally or in writing.
¬ Assist Manufacturing personnel in creating relevant SOW (Standards of Work)
documentation and ensure the SOW details are accurate and up-to-date.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
¬ Bachelors degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, or Manufacturing
Management,
¬ One to five years experience in a process improvement/industrial engineering role.
¬ Working knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma-based continuous improvement
methods.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Certification:
¬ Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
Technical Skills:
¬ Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft PC-based software, especially
spreadsheets.
