The Company:
Our client is the largest gas producer in the Netherlands, with annual production of around 50 billion m³. 70 % of gas (37 billion m³) comes from the Groningen field and the rest from various smaller fields elsewhere on the mainland and in the North Sea (15 billion m³).

The Role:
As our new Process Control Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

• Taking the Lead in the standard approach to configuration and modification of Distributed Control Systems of the offshore and onshore assets
• Acting as commissioning engineer for process control matters
• Assisting the Startup team in the post-commissioning phase, after introduction of hydrocarbons
• Coaching and keeping track of the development of process operators and support technicians in; loop tuning, control performance monitoring/diagnosis
• Developing process control input and strategy to the plant modification processes
• Interfacing with Project & Plant Change Engineering to ensure quality of deliverables (e.g. process control narratives)
• Assuring optimum performance of all asset process control loops
• Troubleshooting when process control problems occur
• Supporting the Engineering and Maintenance organization regarding process control activities
• Identifying and prioritizing bad actors & propose changes to existing applications as needed
• Indentifying & developing opportunities for Advanced Process Control
• Monitoring and following global best practices in area of process control and optimization

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• You should have a BSc. Engineering Degree (e.g. Electrical, Instrumentation, or Process Control) and significant experience as Process Control Engineer. This experience was gained preferably in an international (oil & gas) industrial environment.
• Furthermore you should be able to demonstrate an ability to familiarize with various processes/equipment types and be willing to enhance process control competences by attending the relevant courses.
• Your experience with the implementation and modification of process control and PID loop tuning is essential.
• Besides this you’ll need practical configuration experience with at least one DCS system, and be able to analyze, develop and implement control strategies.

Essential for this role is that you have offshore working experience and are holder of valid offshore permits and training certificates, since you will be spending quite some time working offshore.
