The Company:
Our client, an international major oil and gas operator, seeks a Process Control Setwork Support Engineer to join their team.

The Role:
This is a PCN (Process Control Network) Support engineer position in the PCN Support Team of the Business Unit Process Automation.
• This team provides Process Control Network (PCN) Security Subject Matter Expertise and technical services to various COMPANY business units worldwide including Non-Operating Joint Ventures and non-COMPANY companies with whom the COMPANY has Technical Service Agreements (TSA's).
• The team provides consulting and technical services in the following areas of expertise: the security of PCN Architecture that includes Distributed Control Systems (DCS), SCADA Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Fieldbus technologies, Automation Asset Management Systems (AAMS) and Data Historians.
• The team also performs security risk assessments against the COMPANY Information Risk Standards.
• The team then provides recommended mitigation strategies for Process Control Systems and Architectures to close the identified gaps in order to meet the standards.
• The team is also responsible for developing & applying quality assurance / control processes to ensure process automation system security assurance and reliability & integrity over the entire project & facility lifecycle.

The engineer in this position is responsible for providing PCN Support services to both upstream and downstream projects and facilities with a primary focus on Major Capital Projects and Facilities.

The following is a list of key job responsibilities:

Technology Development:
• To maintain excellence in the various technologies supported by the team.
• This includes work on relevant Focus Area Technology Development (TD) projects.
• This also includes scanning and testing of new technologies while developing evaluation reports to qualify new technologies for use within COMPANY.
• Technology Transfer to projects and facilities in the various technologies supported by the team.
• Develop new and maintain technology related COMPANY Engineering standards with input from business unit stakeholders.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree required
20+ years, PE preferred and may be required by region

Technical Competence:
• Experience in Securing Process Control Networks comprised of PLC, RTU, SCADA, and HMI systems.
• Experience in PCN design, installation, commissioning and maintenance.
• Project experience with control system integrators including conducting Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests.
• Applicable technical knowledge of control systems and communication interfaces, Yokogawa, Rockwell, and Wonderware systems preferred.
• Familiarity with busses and interfaces such as FOUNDATION Fieldbus, HART, Profibus, modbus, Device Net, OPC, etc. is a plus.,
• CISSP Certification is a plus.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Communication & Consulting:
• Good oral, written and presentation skills. Identify and define problems in order to provide solutions to the client through clear and precise communication.
• Developed specifications, FAT, SAT and/or commissioning procedure and security assessment reports.
• Contribute to company engineering standards. Ability to provide technical and personnel leadership in application of PCN Security.
