The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
There is an opportunity for a high calibre and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our new Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering team as a Process Engineer. The team is developing to support future engine developments for the complete range of vehicles. You will be responsible for developing our new, technologically advanced power train assembly facilities that are currently under design and manufacture to support the global powertrain initiatives. The Power Train Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) department are responsible for the development and introduction of new and modified processes and facilities associated with new model introductions and model year changes, within Assembly & Test. You will be a key part of the Assembly team, working closely with Product Development Engineers, Facility vendors and Tooling Suppliers to ensure that component and whole engine designs meet world class quality and efficiency standards.

1 Experience in specifying, delivering and launching engine assembly line facilities and in-line test equipment (automated assembly cells, rundown machines, manual workstations)
2. Project management experience of delivering new or modified equipment into a Engine assembly production facility.
3. Engineering qualification - HNC or above. Preferably Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering

Skills Preferred: Experience in specifying, delivering and launching assembly line facilities and in-line test equipment (automated assembly cells, rundown machines, manual workstations).

Experience Required: Project management experience of delivering new or modified equipment into a production facility.

Education Required: Engineering qualification - Degree/HNC or above. Preferably Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering

Additional Information : You will utilise your knowledge to develop and implement assembly and test processes and facilities to deliver the safety, quality delivery and cost objectives. to work out of both Whitley & Wolverhampton.

Planning, developing and implementation of assembly and test processes and facilities. Provide feasibility statements for Product Development designs to suit manufacturing build requirements. Ensure robust process quality planning including build simulations and FMEA Support virtual build events raising and championing issues where appropriate. Support of physical builds at workshop, pilot build and Manufacturing Plant locations, raising and managing issues where appropriate. Prepare, issue and evaluate supplier Request for Quotations. Assembly process & equipment verification at suppliers and at home manufacturing facility. Support management activities through development and monitoring of timing plans. Support new model planning through development of process estimates against study requests. Ensure adherence to company and departmental operating processes and policies. Manage technical issues, offering guidance to the team and escalating where appropriate. Achieve Equipment Capability targets of all new & modified facilities, including OPR, MTTR, MTBF. Support Component Programme Management Teams (CPMT) Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time
