The Role:
To provide process engineering support and technical expertise to Production Department in fulfilling objectives Technical Department and overall company objective. Prepares technical reports and studies as directed by the Process Engineering superintendent. Participates in plant modification and other projects

• Routinely applies the more common scientific / technical problem solving methods.

• Familiar with site procedures and activities.

• Understands and applies the Total Quality Management (TQM) principles of the organization.

• Generates many new ideas at process / project level.

• Contributes occasionally to other’s projects.

• Applies statistical techniques to problem solving.

• Able to conduct basic technical and economic evaluations.

• Demonstrates effective communication skills.

• Begins seeking out and selecting some assignments.

• Seeks opportunities to present work.

• Executes moderately complex projects, and recognizes their relative importance and implications.

• Execute less specific job assignments with some leeway in the methods used.

• Works reliably enough so that frequency of supervisory review is closer to weekly than daily.

• Proposes and supports recommendations upon which others make decisions and take actions.

• Actively involved in planning for and participating in technical seminars and training.

• Ensure process engineering support is provided to all concerned departments such as Production, Maintenance and Technical Planning and Control according to their requests.

• Conducts plant study (PCR) for on-going plant problems.

• Participates in the preparation of process design packages for plant modifications (PCRs) and involve in detail engineering, execution, start-up and commissioning of the projects.

• Develops various variable cost optimization (alternate catalyst, plant load optimization, additives optimization) energy saving recycling schemes and implement either as PCR or project.

• Verify and seek process engineering superintendent approval for new projects and modifications prior to handover to the production to assure compliance with the approved design package.

• Study and analyze the new technical developments in process engineering to propose improvements and enhancements in the existing facilities.

• Act as the Project Engineer participating in coordinating and supporting contractors and construction management for any company expansion project.

• Participate in any type of testing or site verification, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up to ensure proper compliance.

• Participate in HAZOP studies and process safety review.

• Participate in process hazard analysis PHA teams.

• Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of process problems.

• Suggest and implement process improvements to improve safety, environment, reliability, quality, and process control.

• Suggest and participate in studying ideas to maximize production and profits.

• Participate in Energy Conservation proposals.

• Review of basic and detailed Engineering Packages submitted by licensors/ vendors

• Technical discussions with vendors and technology licensors.

• Benchmarking of plant operations.

• Participate in Catalysts and dryers materials evaluation, testing, references cross checking, selection, ordering and inventory securing.

• Supervising materials loading, unloading and inspection

• Developing SOP(s), clearing procedures, scope of work for contractors, turnaround activities etc.

• Contractors evaluation and capabilities checking for material loading and unloading.

• The Employee shall carry out his duties to the highest quality standards, be aware of the Company’s Quality Program, and shall be aware of and comply with his department’s standard operating procedures and Company policies and procedures in general.

• The Employee shall carry out his duties safely, and shall comply with all Company safety procedures, regulations and programs.

• Carries out other similar or related duties such as ensuring the proper maintenance and up keeping of personnel records and files.

• The employee shall carry out other duties when requested by his supervisor.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Must have Ethane Cracking process experience.

B. S. Degree in Chemical Engineering


Familiar with International standards, codes and regulations

Thorough knowledge of plant maintenance practices, policies and procedures

Computer literate in applicable software


Prior experience in TQM / ISO Environment.
