The Company:
Our Client is a global Energy Leader with a strong commitment to Honest and Ethical Business Practices within the Oil and Gas Industry. Our Client operates as an independent energy company. It has four segments: Oil and Gas, Syncrude, Energy Marketing, and Chemicals. The Oil and Gas segment explores, develops, and produces crude oil, natural gas, and related products.

The Role:
•Provide specialist technical/engineering advise and support to onshore/offshore personnel
•Ensure work is completed in compliance with corporate standards and SESR policies & procedures and industry regulations

•Safety - Conducts all activities in a safe and effective manner and raises safety and environmental issues immediately and in line with corporate policy

•Leadership - Undertakes the role in line with corporate policy and demonstrates behaviours in line with Company’s values at all times. Readily accepts accountability

•Financial - Carries out duties in a way that maximises value and minimises waste and risk.

•Technical/Functional –

•Strive to create a safe workplace and to protect the environment
•Provide specialist technical engineering support to Facilities Engineering teams and other functions as required, ensuring work is completed in compliance with corporate standards and SESR policies & procedures and industry regulations.
•Analyse and resolve production/process issues. Review studies undertaken to enable technical decisions to be made and ensure timely resolution of issues.
•Proactively monitor, review and analyse process/production equipment performance to identify opportunities to maximise production & performance and also to share best practice across both UK and overseas operations.
•Initiate and deliver technically sound and innovative solutions to ensure continuous improvement to deliver improved process systems and equipment performance.
•[ Ensure Engineering Change procedures and working practices are reviewed and updated to reflect the Company business model. ]
•Undertake regular offshore visits to liaise with operations personnel.
•Develop and maintain positive and constructive relationships with key stakeholders e.g. OIMs, Field Managers, [ Joint Venture Partners ], O&M teams, etc. and hold regular feedback meetings with these stakeholders .
•[ Represent the Company at meetings with joint venture partners, industry forums and government bodies. ]
•Openly and proactively shares knowledge.
•Take ownership for the continuous development of personal and technical expertise and knowledge.

•Collaboration - Collaborates with others in the team and looks for opportunities to leverage their network and work with others to develop safe, practical and effective solutions

•Continuous Improvement & Innovation - Continuously develops ways of working by seeking feedback from colleagues and key stakeholders. Complies with Company project management disciplines, effectively utilises knowledge databases and actively participates in project reviews

•Capability Development - Looks for opportunities to develop technical and personal skills both by formal learning interventions and work experience. Coaches team colleagues where appropriate and demonstrates a personal commitment to lifelong learning

•People Processes - Engages with people processes in a positive and timely manner. Demonstrates a commitment to the spirit of such processes.

•Performs other duties, completes additional tasks and supports ad hoc projects as required

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Degree in Chemical Engineering/Science or equivalent

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
•Relevant experience of process/production operations [ within the oil and gas industry ]
•Proven track record of identifying and developing sound and innovative technical solutions
•Knowledge of associated technical/engineering disciplines e.g. instrument and controls, electrical engineering [ beneficial ].
•Technical proficiency in IT programmes/systems e.g. Excel, process engineering software
•Familiar with UK industry regulations relating to the oil and gas industry
•Effective relationship-builder at all levels, internally and externally
