Our Client is one of the world's largest Oil and Gas companies. Their operations cover the entire energy chain, including oil exploration and production to trading, shipping and refining and marketing of petroleum products, as well as chemicals. Our Client has operations in over 130 countries and has more than 95,000 employees worldwide.

The Role:
This post sits within a project team responsible for the management and delivery of the Development Project in the UKCS. This Project forms the first stage in the expansion of the development network for the Company and is therefore of high strategic importance.

The Process Engineer assist the Engineering Manager in all engineering/fabrication/installation/precom aspects related to all modification to be made on the plant including but not limited to Mercury Removal Unit installation, fire fighting system modification, utilities extension. They will have to cope with technical aspect of this package, prioritise the various works, deal with interface team to capture constraints on interface with other package, prepare contractual documents related to gas plant modification contract, assist the engineering manager during technical clarification and report to the Engineering Manager on regular basis to capture main difficulties with proposed way forward.

•Provide the Project team with direct technical support on all process related issues, inclusive of Onshore Processing and Subsea Infrastructure design and the operating philosophies of both.
•Analyse and resolve production / process issues utilising the appropriate techniques, liaising with Project and Technology Departments and Group / external specialists where necessary. Review resulting studies to enable technical decisions to be made and ensuring timely resolution of any production / process issues.
•Control and approve, when appropriate, the specifications, requisitions, design procedures, layouts, arrangements and cause & effect charts within the specified time period, against agreed criteria.
•Ensure that deliverables are developed in accordance with the selected edition of company referential.
•Ensure all necessary technical reviews are planned and executed, and actions closed out in a systematic manner.
•Ensure technical responses to Contractor technical queries, derogations are responded to in a timely manner
•Develop/review the technical Scope of work (exhibit A &E) to be included in the gas plant modification EPIC contract and LLIs orders.
•Manage with contract manager the pre-contract award clarifications and technical evaluations/recommendation.
•Assist, manage and organise with contract team the gas plant Modifications EPIC (Engineering/ Procurement/ Installation/ Construction) contract build-up and LLI orders.
•Pro-actively liaise with Technology, Drilling, Operations, Contractor, Sub-Contractors, Vendors and certifying agency teams on all aspects of the project
•Ascertain contractor progress and produce reports as required throughout the duration of the project.
•Ensure Commissioning activities are anticipated and interface with Operations in managed.
•Assist lead Commissioning Engineer with the commissioning plan through company requirements
•Liaise with interface manager, teams when required.
•Ensure deliverables will meet Quality Requirements and adequate Quality Surveillance is implemented.
•Positively represent the Company at Contractor premises, sites.
•Develop effective and constructive relationships with contractor representatives in a manner that enables a high level of value to be obtained.
•Liaise with the Engineering Manager on a day to day basis providing feedback on ongoing works/studies.
•Attend meetings held at the offices of the company Project in Aberdeen as required.
•Safely deliver the facilities on time and within budget.
•Ensure that design meets Company and Group SHE rules (Maestro, Safety Management System)


•Budget and cost management against time/quality/ budget/client satisfaction and safety
•Ensure multi-discipline technical aspects are managed competently, minimising cost and optimising company/contractor labour force, while ensuring safety and environmental issues are paramount
•Ensure appropriate channel of communication is maintained with management at all levels to ensure operational difficulties are focused on by the relevant expert and that problems are anticipated early and are solved in a timely manner.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
•Degree in Chemical / Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
•Strong knowledge of Company, Group and statutory policies and procedures in relation to engineering, technology and project management
•Strong knowledge of oil and gas facilities design, construction and operation.
•Significant engineering management experience (raising / reviewing procedures, specifications, technical reports, and management of engineering personnel).
•Significant experience in onshore/offshore process engineering within the Oil / Gas industry
•Previous experience with methanol recovery processes, subsea flow assurance and mercury removal are preferable but not compulsory.
•Previous experience of managing high value projects and multi-discipline teams, and an understanding of the associated risks.
