The Company:
Our client is a Multinational Chemical company which will construct, own and operate a world-scale integrated chemicals complex in Saudi Arabia. Once completed, the complex will represent the largest petrochemical facility ever built in a single phase. Our client will establish a world-scale manufacturing footprint that delivers a full range of value-added, performance products destined for the emerging markets of Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.

The Role:
Conduct process-related research, consistent with business unit strategies and goals, which include cost reduction, process improvements, line extensions and new products.

1. Provide support in pre-commissioning, commissioning & start-up. Direct / conduct laboratory and pilot plant experiments involving product and process development and optimization.
2. Monitor and report performance of all equipment in the Division facilities including, analysing data obtained in the plant and from the laboratory, preparing engineering computer models of the process to improve operations and performance.
3. Perform research on work processes and conduct failure analysis of machinery and tools to determine cause of error or problem.
4. Perform studies and process design calculations and record all information and calculations to be available for management decisions and/or checked for correctness and follow up of modifications and operation of the units.
5. Manage process engineering technical data and ensure proper documentation of procedures and work instructions are in place.
6. Periodically perform process audits and ensure adherence to company standards.
7. Maintains an awareness of changes and new developments in process plant technology by reading and absorbing technical journals, manufacturer’s literature, trade publications, and other related engineering studies in oilfield water treatment, metallurgy and pollution.
8. Support production and drive technology improvements.
9. Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/manager.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering or any related engineering field.
• 9 years of experience in process design

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written)
• Require hands-on experience in using process engineering tools for process simulation, hydraulics, overpressure protection analysis, sizing equipment, and sizing instruments

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Required Process Engineering Skills:
• Lead / provide technical support for executing improvement projects
• Review & interpret plant operating data for trouble shooting and to Identify plant improvement opportunities
• Improve and optimize manufacturing processes to maximize productivity, reliability and safety the plant equipment & processes
• Design & trouble shoot solids handling and liquid transfer process equipment and loading/unloading stations
• Thermal design of exchangers in HTRI/HTFS and process design of other process equipment & Instruments
• Hydraulic analysis
• Prepare / update engineering documents and raw materials / utilities reports
• Review, update & prepare safety relief systems to protect equipment & piping
• Assess safety and environmental impact of the plant
