The Company:
Our client, a major international oil and gas operator, seeks Process Engineer to join their team in Anchorage, Alaska!

The Role:
The Process Engineer is a member of the Alaska Engineering Team, which is responsible for reviewing technical work done by the contractor(s) and providing technical guidance and assurance for Projects

Key Accountabilities
• Provide process engineering technical guidance and assurance for Projects for the full portfolio of Projects in Alaska, ranging from pre-Concept Development through to Execute
• Review and advise on process engineering deliverables from the Engineering Contractor
• Contribute to development of Design documents including Statement or Requirements, Basis of Design and Engineering Design Philosophies
• Work with the Contractor during specification, tender, selection, purchase, installation & commissioning of process equipment to provide client technical integrity assurance
• Serve as a key contributor during HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and PHSSER studies
• Provide support during construction to ensure site technical queries, non-conformances, concession requests are properly resolved
• Evaluate requests for deviations or exemptions to the established specifications and standards
• Provide leadership in addressing process design issues with considerations of cost, schedule, and quality
• Determine risks to delivery and ensure adequate risk mitigation plans are in place
• Ensure engineering quality in the discipline and advise on any training requirements
• Provide technical input to risk assessments, Management of Change reviews, and project reviews
• Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant codes, standards, and regulations that pertain to process engineering
• Provide mentoring and coaching assistance to develop junior engineers

Essential Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Essential Experience and Job Requirements
• Experience and working knowledge of HYSYS and other simulation software, including development of the heat and material balance of a system
• Experience with relief valve and flare system design and specification
• Experience and working knowledge of equipment design, specification, installation, repair and maintenance
• Experience in a front line process engineering role in projects and/or operations in oil & gas petrochemical facilities
• Knowledge of the process engineering regulations and industry codes and the ability to explain requirements to others

• Takes appropriate risks, using management of change processes to deliver successfully with an understanding of the business context
• Assimilates complex and ambiguous data to identify key issues and aid decision making
