The Company:
Our client is the largest gas producer in the Netherlands, with annual production of around 50 billion m³. 70 % of gas (37 billion m³) comes from the Groningen field and the rest from various smaller fields elsewhere on the mainland and in the North Sea (15 billion m³).

The Role:
Within our De-Complexing team (based in Assen, the Netherlands) and part of a subsidiary we have two vacancies for a senior Process engineer with key skills in the preparation and writing of all kind of conceptual engineering documents (FEED Engineering)
Our De-Complexing team is responsible for the De-Complexing of some gas treatment installations in the southern North Sea, owned by a subsidiary . There are around 56 facilities (big and small ones) in the asset of the subsidiary . With a number of pipeline systems either connecting to the subsidiary plant in the UK or the Den Helder gas plant in the NL. The subsidiary is a key supplier to the UK and NL gas market. This subsidiary produces 5% of the total UK and NL production fulfilling a significant portion of the local gas demand. Key dimensions for the subsidiary asset (100%) are: 90 production fields; 56 offshore installations, 2 gas plants, 300+ wells; 8 production systems. (This subsidiary is an asset of this client) and client is a joint venture, with Shell as an operating company.
We have a multi-discipline team for the de-complexing of production facilities. The main task for this team is the preparation of the required conceptual documents to obtain the essential approvals for the modification. The expected budget expender of the projects will be approximately 20 million Euros’.

Your responsibility as a Conceptual Process engineer will be; Giving input, writing and preparation of all documents who required are in this project phase of the modification. One of the key qualities of the engineers must be a lot of experience with the preparation of the essential conceptual documents and he/she needs to be a team player. Those 2 habits are key in the position of an Asses & Select engineer. As a discipline engineer you will have contact on a frequent basis with the Technical Authorities (responsible for the integrity of the equipment) of the Asset and with Operations. (The Asses and Select phase can be compared with the old Basic For Design phase).

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
The level of education we looking for is a BSc level or HTS+ Experience with the issues as shown below is a must have in this position
Process De-bottlenecking
Steady State and Dynamic Simulation/Computational Thermo dynamics
Modification and tie-in to Brown Field Process incl. decommissioning
Knowledge of Shell’s DEP and the engineering standards as API, ANSI, ASME
Know with the simulation programs as HYSYS and Aspen-Flarenet is a pre
Familiar with European Pressure Equipment Directives (PED)
Knowledge of process design safety requirements.
Involved in HAZOP/HAZID and other safety related studies/analyses.
Has experience with the work of a " FEED" engineer
Furthermore the team is existing out engineers of different nationalities and religions.
The language is English and Dutch (informal)

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
The candidate must have a certificate of good health conditions essential for going offshore (especially for filed visits)
