The Company:
Our Client is a world leading Automotive OEM which is responsible for some of the most iconic 4x4's & Sports Cars produced. Due to the huge demand for current models and substantial investment in future projects there is a requirement for more resources across the business in engineering & manufacturing on a contract basis.

The Role:
You will utilise your knowledge to develop and implement assembly and test processes and facilities to deliver the safety, quality delivery and cost objectives.
Strategic planning and development and implementation of installation timing plans with key selected Suppliers also form part of this role.
The overall responsibility of this role is to be part of a team of engineers responsible for the planning and implementation of new and major changes to engine manufacturing assembly and test facilities.

• Planning, developing and implementation of assembly and test processes and facilities. provide feasibility statements for Product Development designs to suit manufacturing build requirements.
• Ensure robust process planning including build simulations and FMEAs
• Support virtual build events raising and championing issues where appropriate.
• Support of physical builds at workshop, pilot build and Manufacturing Plant locations, raising and managing issues where appropriate.
• Support assembly process strategy for manufacturing.
• Feasibility of design to suit modern assembly and test requirements.
• Prepare, issue and evaluate supplier
• Request for Quotations
• Assembly process & equipment verification at suppliers and at home manufacturing facility.
• Application of Lean manufacturing & design for assembly principles.
• Develop capable processes ensuring built in quality.
• Achieve all cost targets for the project.
• Support management activities through development and monitoring of timing plans ¿Support new model planning through development of process estimates against study requests
• Ensure adherence to company and departmental operating processes and policies
• Manage technical issues and escalate where appropriate
• Achieve Equipment Capability targets of all new & modified facilities, including OPR, MTTR, MTBF Support Component Programme Management Teams (CPMT) Concur change management and engineering releases via the corporate change control and engineering release systems
• Manage technical issues and escalate where appropriate.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Good IT skills and awareness of Process Authoring Tool (GSPAS), simulation and virtual toolsets i.e. Digital-buck, Process Simulate and CATIA V5 and Byteworx¿s.
Good knowledge of MS Office Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Project).
Candidates should be self-motivated with sound leadership and communication skills, ideally with experience and understanding of engine assembly and testing.
Ability to work within cross-functional teams and flexibility to support projects from early concepts to Launch at any of the Jaguar Land Rover sites.
The ability to lead, and to work as part of a team is essential, as is the ability to achieve results by meeting deliverables / commitments.
Knowledge and experience of GPDS and LQOS deliverables and timing
Previous experience of facility Installation, commissioning and product Launch.
Facility system validation and handover to Manufacturing.
A good understanding of engineering including the ability to review engineering drawings.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
Ideally, educated to Degree level in Manufacturing Systems or a similar engineering discipline. Candidates with HNC / HND and the relevant experience would be considered.
